The Ryzen CPU is a powerful, low-power processor that can be used for gaming or other applications. However, it’s not as efficient as its Intel counterpart and will require a cooler to keep it from becoming too hot. We’ve compiled the best CPU coolers for Ryzen processors.

The best cpu cooler for ryzen 5 3600 is a question that has been asked a lot. There are many different choices when it comes to choosing the best CPU cooler for your Ryzen CPU.

Let’s speak about anything Ryzen-related. When compared to Intel’s Kaby Lake/Coffee Lake CPUs, these processors are more powerful and produce more heat. This makes overclocking Ryzen CPUs with a cheap CPU cooling difficult. Because the socket of AM4 motherboards is entirely different, there aren’t as many CPU coolers for Ryzen CPUs as there are for Intel platforms.

However, most firms have released updated versions of their previous CPU coolers, as well as some new CPU coolers specifically for Ryzen. This prompted me to create a list of the best CPU coolers for Ryzen processors.

I’ve spent a lot of time testing different CPU coolers on various CPUs. I have a good understanding of coolers. Some of the coolers I’ll be listing have been tested on my Ryzen 1700X and are listed below. That isn’t to say that every cooler I’ve tested on Ryzen would be included, since that would be absurd.

If a CPU cooler performs admirably on Ryzen 1700X/2700X/3700X, logic dictates that it will perform as well, if not better, on lower-end Ryzen CPUs. As a result, the list of CPU coolers below applies to all Ryzen CPUs, regardless of core count or clock speed.

So, when it comes to choosing a CPU cooler for Ryzen, what should be your top priority?

Overclocking is and should be your first priority, for which you will need a CPU cooler. If all you want is for your processor to run cooler, there’s no need to purchase an aftermarket CPU cooler since most Ryzen CPUs come with standard AMD cooling that should enough to keep the temperature below the crucial threshold.

However, if you’re going to purchase an aftermarket CPU cooler, don’t skimp. Invest in a decent one or don’t purchase anything at all. For Ryzen CPUs, I strongly advise against purchasing a CPU cooler under $30. Even while you might argue that the Ryzen 3 CPUs should run cooler since they have less cores and a budget cooler should suffice, this is only a theory.

When it comes to temperature, many tech sites like as Tomshardware, Anandtech, and TweakTown have found that they are quite similar to high-end Ryzen CPUs. They are not on an equal footing, but they are not far apart.

So, following is a list of the finest Air CPU Coolers for Ryzen CPUs, followed by a list of the top Liquid Coolers that I recommend: –

MSI Core Frozr L #5

Price on Amazon.com

This $50 cooler is one of the most impressive I’ve ever seen. I’m not saying there isn’t anything better out there, but when compared to other cheap coolers, the quality stands out in terms of dependability and appearance. This is a great cooler for overclocking a Ryzen 3 or 5 CPU, especially the Ryzen 3200G/3400G, since it features four nickel-coated heat pipes that run through extremely robust aluminum fins.

Unlike coolers like the Cooler Master Hyper 212 or the Thermaltake Contac Silent 12, these fins are very stiff and won’t shatter easily. The heatsink comes with an air balancing fan with excellent air pressure, and it can also utilize a second fan on the opposite side. The only issue is that this fan may be hard to locate at times. I think this is the only fan MSI has made for a CPU cooler, if not the whole chassis.

There are 14 fan blades, which is five more than typical air balancing fans, allowing for more air movement at lower fan speeds. The heatsink comes with an LED logo that displays the MSI brand and a silver cover that can be changed to black.

On terms of overclocking, I’m now utilizing it in my own computer. My 1700X has been overclocked to 3.8GHz, and even under high load, it seldom above 65 degrees. However, if I overclock too much, the temperature would rise quickly, which is impossible to forecast theoretically. I wouldn’t suggest this cooler for extreme overclocking, but it may be used on a Ryzen 3200G or 3400G CPU with four cores and four threads to get a decent frequency without worry of excessive temperatures.

This is where you should start, and I don’t suggest going much lower. Despite the fact that I use it on my 1700X, I did not benchmark it since I have a separate testing rig where I test these coolers. Right now, you may read our MSI Core Frozr L review.

Noctua NH-D15 SE-AM4 (#4)

Price on Amazon.com

Noctua NH-D15

The Noctua NH-D15, in my opinion, has had the most success in air cooling and has received a huge amount of good feedback in high-end cooling. Following the popularity of the Cooler Master Hyper 212 cooler, this one is the king of air coolers, and no other cooler can match it in terms of quiet and cooling.

There are two different variants of this cooler. The first is only compatible with AMD’s previous generation platforms and all Intel platforms, however Noctua has released a different version with AM4 socket installation brackets that may be used with Ryzen CPUs in AM4 sockets. That, in my opinion, is a drawback for people who switch platforms often, since you won’t be able to utilize it on any other platform except AM4. But, then again, this article is only about Ryzen CPUs.

The cooler is a complete tower with two massive heatsinks linked by six nickel-plated heatpipes and two 140mm fans, one sandwiched between the heatsinks and the other on each side. It is possible to add another fan, but doing so in practice will be tough since your whole motherboard would be flooded with cooler, which may create problems. For a pull-push arrangement, however, two fans are sufficient. So it’s OK to utilize just two fans.

Because Noctua fans are the quietest on the market, you’ll get excellent performance with minimal noise. This cooler may simply be utilized to overclock any Ryzen CPU to its full capacity. Temperatures seldom exceed 65 degrees Celsius, as shown by several tests conducted by technicians. The cooler also comes with a 6-year guarantee, which is more than enough for most people.

Cooler Master MasterLiquid 240 is number three.

Price on Amazon.com

Cooler Master MasterLiquid 240

I’ve been using this cooler on my Ryzen 1700X for many months and am extremely pleased with its performance. If you have a budget of less than $80, it’s ideal for overclocking. It may be found for much less than that, but the performance is comparable to the Noctua DH-15. This is a cheap option for people who want to save space in their cases and enjoy water cooling.

I’ve never observed the temperature rise beyond 65 degrees Celsius, which is very acceptable for any other CPU. However, since the installation method is simple and universal, it may be used on both AM4 and other systems.

The 240mm radiator is excellent for heat dissipation, and the shielded tubes are very durable. They don’t bend readily, so don’t attempt any crazy figure-eight tricks with them. Install it in the top of your case or at the front if your case has room for radiators, which is common in today’s mid towers.

The block is thick and has a straightforward design. The COOLER MASTER Logo is only illuminated in white and has no other color. In terms of looks, it’s simple, but in terms of performance, it’s the finest for the money, and its fans are excellent.

EVGA CLC 280 (#2)

Price on Amazon.com

EVGA CLC 280 Liquid RGB

The Corsair H115i V2 and the EVGA CLC 280 are in a tight battle. Although Corsair makes several good liquid CPU coolers, this one from EVGA is new and less costly. Not only that, but according to GamersNexus, it performs almost as well as the H115i V2. The EVGA H115i V2 is a fantastic start and is completely compatible with the AM4 socket, while the Corsair H115i V2 requires a special bracket for installation, which you must purchase from Corsair’s own site. So, H115i V2 gets a thumbs down.

This cooler’s fan frames are a touch strangely shaped, but they are powerful air-flow fans that are very quiet. The radiator’s heatsink is conventional, but the tubes are flexible. The EVGA block offers a large surface area for covering the CPU, and installation is simple.

In terms of design, the block has an EVGA logo that employs RGB lights since, well, everything is now RGB. This cooler is pricey at $130, but the 280mm radiator is a huge plus for cooling any Ryzen CPU at low fan speeds, resulting in reduced noise and better temps than 240mm radiators.

This CPU cooler is designed for enthusiasts and should be purchased if you want to get the most out of your Ryzen processor, particularly the Ryzen 7 series CPUs.

NZXT Kraken X62 (#1)

Price on Amazon.com

NZXT Kraken X62

The NZXT Kraken X62, a 280mm radiator and the successor of the NZXT Kraken X61, is currently the greatest value for money. When it comes to value for money, it’s rather costly, but if you don’t have a financial constraint, why not take use of your Ryzen processor?

Because I’ve already mentioned the best cheap CPU coolers above, you should have no trouble looking at this one if you want the quietest performance. These fans may operate at a low speed, generating less noise while functioning similarly to the EVGA CLC 280mm cooler. As a result, the cooler’s greatest feature is its quiet operation.

The cost is $20 higher, but if quiet is my primary goal, I would not be willing to compromise. Nobody appreciates the supporters making such a lot of noise. In terms of looks, it’s still the greatest option. With an endless mirror lighting method block, you may select from a variety of effects that appear much better than the EVGA CLC cooler.

This one is ideal for Ryzen 7 processors in the high-end range.
