Shadow Of The Tomb Raider is a game that revolves around Lara Croft and her search for her lost father. It is one of the games we highly recommend playing on the highest settings for a best experience. It’s not a fast-paced FPS like a Call of Duty or Battlefield. There aren’t a lot of games like this, and the graphics of the game is simply stunning.

When it comes to the gaming market, prices of graphics cards have fallen over the years, and this year we are seeing a new breed of graphics cards entering the market with the aim of becoming a popular choice for gamers. On this page, we take a look at the best graphics cards for Shadow Of The Tomb Raider and we will try to find the best one for you.

With Shadow Of The Tomb Raider being the first major title for the highly anticipated and highly anticipated sequel to 2013’s Rise of the Tomb Raider, we decided to review the best graphics cards for playing that game at a high setting.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is one of my favorite Tomb Raider games to date, and although the visuals were fairly similar to Rise of the Tomb Raider, there were some small and significant advancements in certain places. Ray Tracing and DLSS were launched by Nvidia in gaming, and STTR received them. Real-time lighting effects and dynamic shadows are two of the game’s major graphical elements that have never been seen before in a Tomb Raider game. As a result, this game is more difficult to play than the others.

The game was released on Steam on September 14, 2018, and it requires a decent setup to operate at 60 frames per second at various resolutions. The following are the game’s minimum and recommended specifications as listed on Steam, which should give you an idea of what graphics card you’ll need to run it properly.

    • Windows 7 64-bit OS
    • INTEL i3-3220 or AMD Equivalent Processor
    • RAM (memory): 8 GB
    • Nvidia GTX 660/GTX 1050 or AMD Radeon HD 7770 graphics
    • Version 11 of DirectX
    • 40 GB of storage space is available.

    • Windows 10 64-bit OS
    • 3.40GHz Intel Core i7 4770K or 3.20GHz AMD Ryzen 5 1600 processor
    • RAM (memory): 16 GB
    • Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB or AMD Radeon RX 480 8GB graphics
    • Version 12 of DirectX
    • 40 GB of storage space is available.

It’s obvious from the specs that if you want smoother gameplay, you’ll need at least a GTX 1050 to run it at 1080p. But first, have a look at the STTR gameplay on the GTX 1050 Ti:-

The user utilized a GTX 1050 with an i5 7500, which is a better CPU than the i3 3220 from the minimal requirements. He has it set to nearly medium graphics settings and is playing it in 1080p. The frame rate is close to 40, which is the minimal minimum you need play to fulfill your needs. But, at 1080p and medium settings, I don’t believe that’s a decent number to be playing on. If it had been high or extreme, we would have concluded that the GTX 1050 is one of the GPUs to consider.

Now, after searching the Gamedebate site for the best and cheapest GPU for this game, we discovered that a GTX 1060 is recommended for excellent performance, and here is a video of the game with this GPU:-

With SMAA enabled, the GTX 1060 is obviously capable of running the game at high settings with 60+ frames per second. The frame rate is close to 40 with everything turned up to eleven. As a result, the GTX 1060 is the minimum required for seamless gameplay. Going higher will improve performance, and here is a list of the best GPUs that will give you an amazing and immersive gaming experience.

For 1080p Ultra 60 frames per second

EVGA GeForce GTX 1660 XC EVGA GeForce GTX 1660 XC EVGA GeForce GTX 16

Price on

If you simply want to get the job done well without paying an extra ten dollars, the GTX 1660 is the man to go with. This card is capable of delivering 60-70 frames per second in 1080p at extreme settings. Nor any more, not any less. With a boost speed of 1785MHz, this GPU includes 6GB of GDDR5 memory.

You should easily anticipate performance far above 60 fps with a CPU like the i5 9400F or higher, as demonstrated in the video below, which utilizes the i5 7400 and still achieves 60+ fps in the game. The GTX 1660 is not only suitable for this game, but it can also comfortably handle most other games at high settings with 60 frames per second. It outperforms the GTX 1060, which is the minimum need for 60 frames per second, and costs less than $250. See the full list of specifications here.

For 1440p High 60 frames per second

EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 XC EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 XC EVGA GeForce RTX

Price on

EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 XC Black

The RTX 2060 is the slowest card in the RTX series, but it’s still a monster at 1440p. If you don’t want to spend more than $500 on a console that can play anything on high to extreme settings at that resolution, this is the one to get. STTR is a visually demanding game, therefore I suggest utilizing high settings to maintain a consistent 60 frames per second. In terms of specifications, it has 6GB of GDDR6 RAM and is capable of Ray Tracing, which is a feature included in the game.

Although I don’t suggest utilizing that function since it lowers the framerate below what you’d term “playable,” I would still recommend it because Ray Tracing isn’t the primary goal here, but 60 frames per second is. The EVGA version is now available for $300, while the next GPU in the RTX series will easily cost more than $100, with just a 10% performance improvement. If you’re going to utilize Ryzen 5 3600, make sure you have at least an i5 9400F or greater. See the full list of specifications here.

For 1440p Ultra 60 frames per second

RX 5700 XT Thicc II by XFX

Price on

In both the GPU and CPU areas, AMD has been battling it out with Nvidia and Intel. When it comes to price to performance, its new RX 5700 series, which currently has two graphics cards, has defeated Nvidia’s RTX 2060 and RTX 2070 GPUs, which is why I skipped using the RTX 2060/2070 or their Super editions except for the RTX 2060 above, which is only because it is currently available for $300.

The RX 5700 XT from AMD is approximately 10% faster than the RX 5700 and costs $50 extra. It is powerful enough to deliver more than 60 frames per second on extreme settings at 1440p, regardless of the game. The XFX Thicc II version is a great way to save money and get the most out of your money, and it’ll help you obtain a smoother performance when paired with an i5 9600K or Ryzen 5 3600 processor. It will be much better if you utilize a processor like the i7 9700K or Ryzen 3700X, and I don’t think the RX 5700 XT will be limited in any way, whether it VRAM or clock rates. See the full list of specifications here.

For 4K Ultra 60 frames per second

GeForce RTX 2080 Super Gaming OC from Gigabyte

Price on

When it comes to 4K gaming, the RTX 2080 Super is the suggested GPU for STTR. This isn’t because it’s the greatest 4K GPU, but rather because the RTX 2080 Ti is too costly when comparing price to performance, thus the RTX 2080 Super seems to be a better choice. It is around 5% quicker than the RTX 2080, but costs $700, which was the RTX 2080’s launch pricing.

It features 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM with a memory speed of 15.5Gbps, which is just what you need for a performance boost. At 4K, this GPU can comfortably run the STTR on extreme settings at 60 frames per second, which is a few frames faster than the non-Super version. Also, playing with RTX ON at 1080p resolution will be simpler now, giving you that extra visual candy you’ll enjoy.

You’ll be OK if you pair it with an i7 9700K or i9 9900K processor. See the full list of specifications here.

The graphics cards listed above are the most recommended for Shadow of the Tomb Raider, although they aren’t the only ones that can run game at 60 frames per second. There are other cards that can run it well, such as the GTX 1660 Ti and the RTX 2070 Super, but when it comes to price to performance, the above-mentioned four GPUs come out on top.

As all the graphics card reviews on this site will tell you, there are two main graphics card categories: Dedicated Graphics Cards and Integrated Graphics Cards. Integrated Graphics Cards, such as the Nvidia GeForce GT 1030, are intended for basic system performance and come with a relatively low power consumption. This is great for laptops, but they have a weakness: they are not always able to compete with dedicated graphics card, which, in turn, are usually more powerful. The reason is simple: Integrated Graphics Cards are meant for an entire system and offer a lower performance than dedicated graphics card. Because of this fact, Integrated Graphics Cards could not be as powerful as dedicated graphics cards.. Read more about shadow of the tomb raider graphics settings ps5 and let us know what you think.
