This Super Bowl Sunday, a child sex sting operation came to an end. Only Thomas Cheung of Hi-Rez studios has been brought into prison out of the 21 individuals detained. Thomas Cheung formerly worked for CCP Games on EVE Online and had contracts with famous gaming businesses such as NZXT, who said they are not connected with him and denounced his conduct, and Steelseries, which said he is no longer associated with the brand but has yet to issue a comment. A task team of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation recently stated that 21 people had been arrested in connection with a group that allegedly planned to have sex with a child. Those detained vary in age from 20 to 55, and include health care executives and a grocery store worker.

The months-long investigation, dubbed “Operation Interception,” aimed to “arrest those who connect with minors on the internet, have sexually explicit chats with them, and then travel to see them for the intention of having sex.”
“Those detained had sexually explicit communications with someone they thought to be a kid, and the majority of those arrested went to meet a child for sex,” according to a press statement.
Thomas Cheung, who was detained as part of the sting operation, works as a community expert at Hi-Rez Studios in Alpharetta, Georgia. Cheung is a Twitch broadcaster who has gained online fame under the moniker “Elvine, the gold producing wizard.” The complete list of suspects arrested as a result of the sting operation may be seen below. (February 4, 2019) – Brookhaven, Georgia – The Georgia Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes (CEACC) Unit, the Brookhaven Police Department, the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office, and the United States Marshals Service Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force collaborated on a proactive undercover investigation that resulted in the arrest of 21 people. O.C.G.A. 16-12-100.2, Computer or Electronic Pornography and Child Exploitation Prevention Act of 2007, and/or O.C.G.A. 16-5-46, Trafficking of Persons for Labor or Sexual Servitude, were filed against those detained. It’s possible that further charges and arrests may be made.
Brookhaven, DeKalb County, Georgia was the focal point of “Operation Interception.” The operation was meticulously planned over many months. The majority of the arrestees, who range in age from 20 to 55, came from different parts of Atlanta with the intention of meeting a kid for sex. Several individuals were apprehended with suspected illicit substances in their hands. During the operation, twenty-four digital devices were seized as evidence and analyzed.
The aim of “Operation Interception” was to apprehend those who connect with minors on the internet, have sexually explicit chats with them, and then travel to meet them for sex. Additionally, individuals ready to exploit minors by buying sex with a juvenile were targeted in the operation. On-line child predators search for youngsters in chat rooms and websites, initiate discussions with them, introduce sexual material, and eventually organize a meeting with them for the goal of having sex. Both boys and girls are targeted by these predators. In similar operations since 2014, the Georgia ICAC Task Force has detained over 130 individuals.
To counteract this behavior, the proactive on-line investigation was a coordinated effort among the cooperating law enforcement authorities. To would-be child predators, the Brookhaven Police Department has issued a stern warning: “Our message is straightforward: if you believe you’re going to Brookhaven to meet a kid for sex, you’re more than likely to run across us. This kind of conduct won’t be allowed here.” “The Brookhaven Police Department is one of our most engaged member agencies,” Debbie Garner, GBI Special Agent in Charge and Commander of the Georgia ICAC Task Force, said. Their everyday efforts to prevent child exploitation are much appreciated. This kind of cooperation and teamwork is critical in the fight to protect our children from predators who want to hurt them. All of the agencies involved worked together to make this operation a success. We will continue to work together vigorously to safeguard our children.”
The Georgia ICAC Task Force conducted proactive internet undercover investigations using sites known to be utilized to promote for the sex industry during “Operation Interception.” As a consequence of the investigations performed on these locations, one arrest was made. The individual detained was charged with human trafficking offenses for arranging to buy sex with a child, and the arrest included a monetary component. When compared to comparable activities in the past, this was a significant reduction.
Prior to Super Bowl LIII, there were extensive media efforts aimed at discouraging people from purchasing sex with minors. In addition, law enforcement, non-profit groups, and victims’ support organizations made a concerted effort to educate the public and different sectors about the signs of human trafficking. During the operation, over 63 instances were identified that fulfilled the criteria for arrest. A total of twenty-one of these instances resulted in arrests. Investigators had almost 200 conversations with individuals on different social media and internet platforms throughout the course of the multi-day investigation. Many of them were encounters in which the subject initiated contact and, even after realizing they were speaking with a child, steered the discussion towards sex. The topic in several of those instances presented obscene or lude material, often introducing the juvenile (law enforcement officer) to pornography or asking the kid take nude or pornographic photos for them.

Multiple analysts from the Georgia Information Sharing and Analysis Center (GBI-GISAC) are usually assigned to the intelligence duties during ICAC Task Force activities. GBI-GISAC had few staff to devote exclusively to “Operation Interception” this week since it was operating in a variety of support roles throughout the city in preparation for Super Bowl LIII. GBI-GISAC sought help from the Mississippi Fusion Center to address staffing problems while providing efficient support for all activities. Mississippi, GBI-GISAC, and Brookhaven PD specialized analysts collaborated to meet the task force’s intelligence requirements and identify suspects.
Brookhaven PD used license plate reader (LPR) equipment throughout the operation to track down previously identified predators when they entered the municipal boundaries. Brookhaven PD has almost 50 LPR cameras around the city thanks to a collaboration with Georgia Power and Vigilant Solutions technology. “Our officers were notified the minute a previously designated target entered the city using this technology, aiding in their eventual apprehension,” Brookhaven Police Chief Gary Yandura stated.

The game will be released on March 26th, and many people are wondering which side Bryce Harper will play for in real life and in the game.

It’s a must-have, but I’m not sure it’ll be used in competitive play (we’ll see). There are no farming tips; just open treasure boxes. It will arrive sooner rather than later. It seems to have a fair drop rate, but some people may find it more difficult than others.

Fans of the company were left heartbroken to find out that actor Vic Mignogna, who had been playing the role of Grey in the company’s flagship series RWBY, had been diagnosed with tuberculosis. The company announced last week that Mignogna would be leaving his role as Grey, and that he would be continuing to work as a voice actor on the series.

Rooster Teeth has recently announced (via Twitter) that Vic Mignogna will no longer be with the company and that he will no longer be working with the company. This news came as a surprise to Rooster Teeth fans and followers, as the final day of The Rooster Teeth Expo was yesterday and Mignogna was a featured panelist.
Vic Mignogna, an anime voice actor, has been fired from the popular program RWBY. “Effective today, Vic Mignogna is no longer a member of the cast of RWBY, and Rooster Teeth is terminating all ties with Mignogna,” Rooster Teeth said in a statement on their website. This will have no impact on RWBY’s original content.” Although there have been accusations of sexual harassment, Rooster Teeth has not said why it has severed relations with Mignogna.
At fan gatherings, Mignogna has been accused of homophobia and unwelcome physical attempts on females. Many people who have encountered Mignogna at conventions have implicated him. Mignogna has even been accused of interacting with minors. These accusations initially surfaced on social media, mostly on Twitter, and rapidly grew in popularity. Other voice actors are rallying behind these fans and expressing their support on social media. Rooster Teeth is the first production firm to stand up to Mignogna, and who knows how many more will follow. The experienced actor has voiced a number of well-known anime series, including Fullmetal Alchemist and, most recently, Broly in Dragon Ball Super: Broly.
Mignogna first disputed the allegations on Twitter, but has since disappeared. He has denied the allegations and apologized to anybody who he may have hurt.

The behavior he is accused of displaying is reprehensible, particularly in this “me too” age. This kind of accusation has the potential to ruin a person’s career. I’m not saying he’s guilty; only time will tell what Mignogna has in store, but it doesn’t seem good. In addition to the stash of games that I’ve been saving over the years for “some day”, I also have a (sort of) shameful pile of games that I do not play anymore. Its not that I don’t enjoy the games, I just don’t have the time to play them anymore. Over the years I’ve collected a variety of games, mostly because they were the latest and greatest at the time. However, even games that I had high hopes for, like Medal of Honor, never really panned out as I hoped they would.

If you play for two hours on weekdays and six hours on weekends, you’ll have a total of 16 hours of solid gameplay. In a week, you could probably scratch the surface of Fallout: New Vegas, which has 100+ hours of gameplay.
Finishing big games is getting more difficult. I’m not referring to real difficulties. Games with 50+ hours of playtime are now available; they are referred to as “near endless” games. Many of these hours are just padding, which we soon tire of. Just Cause 2 was said to feature over 100 hours of gameplay.
Yes, I could probably spend 100 hours playing the game. However, that involves at least 50 hours of travel time. Why do games offer us lengthy sequences of travel that we don’t see in movies (unless it’s a pursuit scene)?
A good, entertaining game does not have to be lengthy or drawn out. Portal was a hit with gamers; it was just four hours of eerie humour, but it was well worth it.
Some don’t have any speech, yet they’re nonetheless scary.
There’s Too Much Choice
We don’t have enough time to play all of the games that are now available. For the SNES, I had Super Mario Kart and Mario All Stars when I was younger. You can bet I had gold on all the Cups with just two games available to me. So, what exactly is the problem? Is it because there are more games accessible today, or because I have more money (barely), or because I have less time to play?
It’s no surprise that we put games down with so many AAA titles coming out every day to distract us. You can’t blame me if I get sidetracked by….. oh, shiny. What was I doing, exactly? Right.
You could always return later, but then you’d have to deal with it. “What was I up to?” …oh, yeah, before the difficult boss fight, I’m re-watching this cut-scene.”

Sometimes the game is just too difficult, to the point where anger quitting is unavoidable. When the game pauses to suggest reducing the difficulty level, it’s both a gift and a slap in the face.
Devil May Cry was the first game I came across that accomplished this. Until you killed two or three times in the first chapter, you couldn’t even access easy mode.

There are many titles out there that offer a female take on the gaming industry, but few actually manage to be convincing and embody female characters the way games like The Last of Us and Beyond: Two Souls do.
“Gender bending” is a term used in gaming to describe the physical transformation of a character from one gender to the other. In video games, gender bending is generally portrayed as a form of self-expression or even a form of gender empowerment. In modern gaming culture, gender bending is just another way of having fun with the medium.
At day, he’s a quiet, law-abiding citizen, and by night, he’s Azeroth’s most hardened Night Elf Druid. I’m referring to World of Warcraft, the life-sucking game (WoW). I’m also thinking of Bill*, who told me one night after a few too many drinks that he plays a female night elf.
Don’t ask me how this came to be, but think of the most complicated discussions you’ve had while downing tequila shots. However, it made me wonder how many other players in major MMOs like experimenting with their gender in game.
Do any of you like to dress up?
A player must design an avatar in order to play any MMO. It makes you wonder how much of our own personality is mirrored in this beautifully improved avatar. Not even personality, but gender in particular. Bill’s justification for portraying a female role is hilarious. His whole guild believes he is really a woman.
Is this morally correct? That’s probably a topic for a different conversation. Bill, who is above the age of 20, thinks that his guild mates provide him with much-needed extra assistance in game. Raid commanders, for example, will whisper precise orders to him in ‘dumbed down’ English with no jargon, which he finds very useful when raiding.
He says he is “chummy” with the guild alchemist and enchanter, so he never has to pay for costly goods like flasks, potions, or enchants. His portrayal of a ditsy female character was amusing since it had nothing to do with his real-life demeanor. Nonetheless, he thinks that pretending to be a woman is worth the in-game bonuses and advantages.
Female buddies, on the other hand, prefer to play male courses since they get less attention. I can understand this since there’s nothing worse than being in the middle of a raid and being asked if you’re on Facebook by the so-called attractive hunter. Or the way some guys patronize you by offering you unwelcome assistance, thinking that females don’t know how to get out of a fire. This does not happen often, but it may be aggravating nevertheless.
Isn’t that how everyone plays World of Warcraft?
Is there any way to determine which gender the player is with all of this deception? Because of the number of happy faces and emoticons used while typing, I’ve heard that gamers can tell. However, I must disagree. I know the vast majority of my guild members in real life, and they are all men who use much too many emoticons for my taste.
Flirting, whether it’s a /kiss or a /whistle, is a dead giveaway for me, and if it’s done more than twenty times, I’d bet it’s a man behind the screen. I’ve also been informed that the larger a female avatar’s breasts are, the more probable it is a male gamer. It goes without saying that utilizing Vent or Team Speak makes things a bit simpler.
Even so, I was once questioned whether I was truly a 12-year-old boy. *Ouch*
