So Metro Games In Order is all about the 20XX series, but here are some of my favorite games that I would love to see in the series.

The complete list of games that will be released in 2021, one year after the release of the next generation of video game consoles. Recent releases are listed after the year of release.

Welcome to the Game List – This is a list of all the games that I have completed. If I have not completed a game I will say what I am playing and when I completed it. This list will be updated based on when I complete a game. I am currently in the middle of “Metro 2033 Redux”, “Metro Exodus”, “Payday 2”, “Sniper Elite 4”, “Battlefield 1”, “Battlefield 2” & “Battlefront 1”.

The Metro series springs to mind first and foremost when it comes to open-world survival games. These games are based on Dmitry Glukhovsky’s Metro Novel, and three games follow the sequel. Despite the fact that this game is not as large or open as Grand Theft Auto or features multiplayer as Battlefield, it has been a huge hit.

The book was published in 2005, and the first game in the series was released in 2010, thus this isn’t a new property. The game’s name is derived from a book set in the Russian Federation, in which NATO launched nuclear strikes and the attack’s rescuer was forced to dwell in subterranean metro tunnels.

To advance through the game, the player must battle against other people and monsters, and certain tasks must be completed in order to finish the narrative. The game starts out with a few weapons, but the most recent installment in the series adds several actual and fictitious weaponry that you may modify.

In every Metro game, there is an in-game money that can be spent to purchase ammo or improve the player’s weaponry. There is no way to purchase that currency with real money, or there are no microtransactions in the game.

This game does not feature a multiplayer option, although it was reported that the studio was working on a multiplayer mode for Metro Last Light, but it was subsequently revealed that the firm’s primary emphasis is single player, thus the idea was scrapped. 2033 (Metro), Metro Last Light, and Exodus from the Metro are the three games in this series.

In this article, we’ll go through each game’s gameplay and storyline, as well as the Metro games’ chronological sequence and system requirements. So, rather of spending time on game mechanics and narrative, let’s take a look at the games in this series in sequence.

The Order of Metro Games

This is a list of metro games, and if you’re interested in playing them, I suggest doing so to gain a full understanding of their stories. I’m going to start our list with the first item in this series.

2033 (Metro)

1629679988_189_Metro-Games-In-Order-2021-Complete-List

  • Date of Publication: March 16, 2010
  • Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Linux, OS X, and Stadia are among the platforms available.

2033 (Metro) was published in 2010 and was based on the book of the same name, as I stated in the introduction. The primary focus of this game is first-person shooting, but it also includes horror and survival aspects. The game’s narrative takes place in Moscow after a nuclear war, in which all survivors are forced to dwell in subterranean tunnels.

The game is played from a first-person viewpoint, and the player must use various weapons to kill monsters and other people. There are a few methods to kill the opponents, however stealth is the most favored method. For ammo, you may purchase it from merchants or get it from the corpses of opponents.

Some sections of the metro station are contaminated by radioactive radiation, necessitating the use of a proper mask to prevent injury. Once you’ve entered the radiation zone and your gas mask has been destroyed during battle, you must replace it as quickly as possible, otherwise the player’s health will begin to deteriorate.

Players from all around the globe have given the game high marks, praising the game’s atmosphere, narrative, terror, and stealth aspects. Despite the fact that the game has a lot of positive aspects, players have expressed their dissatisfaction with the game’s awful opponents, artificial intelligence, and other problems.

The majority of the game takes place in Moscow’s tunnels, although you will sometimes be required to go to the earth’s surface in the ruins of Moscow. You can gain a sense of the narrative through playing the game, while cutscenes show the key events and sections of the game.

The player has a limited quantity of ammo most of the time in the game, and you must get ammunition from the dead corpses in order to live. There is a currency in the game called “military-grade ammo,” which may be used to purchase ammunition in the tunnels or to improve the main weapon.

At some stages throughout the game, the player must make moral decisions, such as donating in-game money to the homeless or poor, which will result in various cutscenes at the game’s conclusion. Despite this, you will not get anything connected to these decisions during the game.

The original Metro 2033 does not need a high-end gaming PC, and you can probably play it on any modern setup. Take a look at the game’s minimal and recommended requirements, as stated by the developer, before downloading it.

Without a doubt, the developer has created a masterpiece with excellent gaming mechanics and a compelling narrative, which is what the majority of people like about this game. This game’s narrative takes approximately nine hours to finish, and I’m just talking about the main missions here, not the side or optional missions, which are, of course, enjoyable. It also relies on the difficulty level at which you’re playing the game.

Last Light on the Metro

1629679989_124_Metro-Games-In-Order-2021-Complete-List

  • Date of Publication: 14 May 2013
  • Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, OS X, Linux, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Stadia are among the platforms available.

The gameplay of Metro Last Light is identical to that of Metro 2033, and it is the greatest installment in the Metro series, but there are a few differences. Metro Last Light is a sequel to Metro 2033, and it continues the great ending narrative of the previous game by following the novel’s next chapter.

Unlike the last game, which was not published on Sony PlayStation 3, this one is accessible on any platforms you wish to play on, including Linus, macOS, and now Google Stadia. The game’s concept has remained unchanged, as have the first-person shooting controls, as well as the survival and horror aspects.

As I previously said, this game is a sequel to the last installment in the series, which included a nuclear strike on Moscow, and the player is charged with finding the Dark Ones in various areas of the subterranean tube. Improved in-game mechanics, a weapon customization system, and minor graphical upgrades are among the game’s notable changes.

The game is being developed by an 80-person team, with Dmitry Glukhovsky, the game’s primary proprietor and franchise creator, writing the narrative and blueprint. There were speculations around the time of release that the game will likely feature multiplayer, however that idea may be scrapped in order to concentrate more on the single-player experience. The game was also supposed to be released on the Wii U, however that idea was scrapped as well.

The game’s user review was helpful, and the majority of users appreciated the game’s atmosphere, world design, and visuals. In contrast, it received some unfavorable feedback on artificial intelligence and other problems, similar to the previous game. This game is considered a commercial success for the business since its first week sales are significantly higher than the Metro 2033’s lifetime sales.

This game has more weaponry than the last installment in the series, with some of them based on actual weapons and the majority of them being fictitious. The tunnels in this game are gloomy, and the player must depend on a flashlight or a lighter for the most of the game.

This game needs greater hardware performance than the previous one, and you’ll need high-end gear to play it. There are minimal and recommended Metro Last Light system requirements, which you should review before purchasing and installing the game on your computer.

Both Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light are excellent games, but if you go right into Metro Last Light, you will most likely miss out on what occurred in the background and what will happen next, therefore it is recommended that you play Metro 2033 first. The game’s last task is likewise insufficient to provide the entire context of the game. The narrative of this game takes 10 hours to finish, however that depends on the difficulty level you choose. Overall, I think it’s one of the best games released after Metro 2033.

Redux Metro

1629679990_569_Metro-Games-In-Order-2021-Complete-List

  • Date of Publication: August 26, 2014
  • Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, OS X, Linux, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Stadia are among the platforms available.

The firm has updated the original game with enhanced visuals and mechanics, four years after it was released. On May 22, 2014, the firm announced the release of Redux Metro, a remastered version of the original Metro 2033. The narrative stays the same, but many other aspects of the game have been enhanced.

Redux Metro is powered by the newest 4A Engine, which was also utilized in Last Light, and all of the modifications and mechanics from that game have been carried over to Metro 2033. Only next-generation systems, such as the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, received the remastered version; prior consoles, such as the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, were not included.

Those who do not buy Metro Redux but want to try it out may download a trial version of the game, which includes the first third of the single-player campaign. This is a fantastic opportunity to get a taste of the game, and if you like it, you can purchase the full edition and pick up where you left off.

That’s all there is to the remastered Metro 2033, although the studio also published Metro Last Light Redux afterwards. The new version of the game was not planned for eight generations of consoles, but it was revealed with the other Redux version.

Along with the Redux, the firm also published remastered downloadable content for these titles, which can be purchased as part of the package. The Metro 2033 Redux and Metro Last Light games, as well as several DLCs, are included in this package, which we may call a good bargain.

The firm has expanded the game’s availability to include the Nintendo Switch and Google Stadia. This game is now available on nine platforms, including Linux and macOS. Although players have praised the redux version of Last Light, most users have criticized it due to minimal visual improvements.

Both of the Redux titles were commercial successes for the business, much like the original releases. The business would not disclose the actual amount of sales, but they did say that the Metro Redux Collection may sell over 1.5 million copies immediately after its debut. In the month it was published, it was also the 6th best-selling book in the United States.

Because the game’s visuals are so much better than the original games, it requires greater graphics and processing power. Only the graphics needs have increased, but the CPU requirements have remained same from prior games.

Requirements for a Minimum System

Game Name Metro Redux
Intel CPU 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo E4500
AMD CPU AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5000+
Graphics Card from AMD AMD Radeon HD 3870
Graphics Card from Nvidia Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT
Memory for video 512 MB
Memory 2 GB
System of Operation 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows XP
DirectX DX 10
Storage 10 GB

System Requirements that are Recommended

Game Name Metro Redux
Intel CPU 3.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
AMD CPU AMD Athlon II X2 270 processor
Graphics Card from AMD AMD Radeon HD 7850 graphics card
Graphics Card from Nvidia GeForce GTX 480 from Nvidia
Memory for video 1.5 GB
Memory 6 GB
System of Operation 64-bit Windows 7
DirectX DX 11
Storage 10 GB

For those who have previously played Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light and want to play them again, there are plenty of alternatives. Rather of replaying the original games, users may purchase the Metro Redux package, which contains both of these games. It’s not the original edition, but a remastered version with enhanced visuals and gameplay features. After playing these games, your gaming experience will be improved, and I’m certain you’ll like the Metro Redux if you enjoyed the original games.

Exodus from the Metro

1629679991_547_Metro-Games-In-Order-2021-Complete-List

  • The film will be released on February 15, 2019.
  • Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Stadia are the platforms available.

This game, like Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light, is a sequel to the previous installment in the series and, without a question, a fantastic game to play. This game is a sequel to Dmitry Glukhovsky’s book, and he authored all of the game’s main sequences and storylines. It’s also a first-person shooter with stealth aspects that players may utilize to advance.

The game takes place in several Russian federations and Kazakhstani districts, including some well-known cities, with the player as a survivor of a nuclear assault on the nation. The subterranean metro tubes are dark enough that the player will need to bring a flashlight or a lighter to see through them.

The shifting weather, day-and-night cycle, and weather system that varies with time are some of the features that set it apart from prior entries. According to the game’s plot, the gameplay spans a whole year. Another nuclear war broke out in the globe a year after the events of Metro Last Light, and that’s where the narrative of this game began.

The narrative of this game begins in a severe winter or nuclear winter in a Metro tube, and the season changes as the game continues. When the player finds outside horizons, he realizes that NATO has attacked several of Russia’s main cities and is occupying what is left.

Exodus from the Metro was first revealed in 2017, although development began in 2014, shortly after the release of Metro Redux. The newest 4A Engine version was utilized in the game’s development, and it was published on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. This game was later converted to Google Stadia, and it is currently accessible on this platform.

This game comes with two downloadable expansion packs that continue the narrative of the game and arrive a few months after its initial release. The Two Colonels is the first DLC, and it begins after Artyom discovers the solution for Anna’s sickness. The second DLC is Sam’s Narrative, which continues the war story, and both are worthwhile to play. With its release, the business claimed that the game had sold 50% more copies than the prior games, making it a huge success.

This is one of the finest Metro games to play in 2021, based on user input, however I would suggest playing the Metro Redux package first to get a sense of what was going on before this game. It follows the same character and narrative as the last installment in the series. The enhanced visuals and in-game mechanisms, on the other hand, make it more attractive. If we play the Metro games in sequence, this is the most recent and last title, and the studio has yet to produce another Metro game.
