For the last two months, rumors and speculations of new Nvidia graphics cards have been circulating, but it is widely assumed that Nvidia has something special planned for this year. The next GPU series, dubbed the GTX 1100, is said to surpass Pascal graphics cards and is expected to be released in a few months.
Wccftech has revealed a leaked benchmark of the GTX 1180, the successor to the GTX 1080, which demonstrates the new card’s capabilities. The new card is believed to be built using Turing architecture and 12nm manufacturing technology, as we previously reported. This card will have excellent specifications, including GDDR6 memory and a large number of CUDA cores.
The GTX 1180 is reported to have 16GB of GDDR6 memory, which is crazy, 1.6GHz/1.8GHz core/boost speeds, 3584 Cuda cores, and a TDP of 170-200 Watts, which is also insane. The games or apps used in this comparison are unclear, but we can observe the GTX 1180’s relative performance and where it sits. It outperforms both the GTX 1080 Ti and the Titan XP. At 2560x1440p resolution, the Nvidia GTX 1080 receives 100 points, but the GTX 1180 receives 150 percent more. This card is a monster, with peak FP32 compute capability estimated at approximately 13 TFLOPS. Obviously, this card is designed for 4K resolution and may be used with the new Asus and Acer 4K 144Hz displays.
As previously stated, this card is expected to be released in July, with a price of $699, which is the same as the GTX 1080 Ti.
