Star Wars Battlefront 2 is an online multiplayer first-person shooter video game. It is the sequel to Battlefront (2015) and the second game in the Star Wars Battlefront series. It was developed by EA DICE and published by Electronic Arts. It is set in the Star Wars universe during the movies Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. It was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in November 2017. The game features a single-player campaign, which is set between the events of the film Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and the beginning of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

It’s been nearly two years since Star Wars Battlefront burst onto the scene with a multiplayer experience that few had ever seen before. While the game’s popularity among its core audience has remained robust, it’s also continued to see success with the wider gaming community. Part of its appeal is that it looks and feels like Star Wars, unlike the other games in the franchise. It’s made for fans of the franchise to play, and feels like it belongs in an official capacity.

As the sequel to one of the biggest video games of all time, it was really a no brainer that Battlefront 2 would be a huge success. EA and DICE have delivered the sequel we have all been waiting for, and it is packed with a bunch of new and returning features.. The Star Wars Battlefront 2 embargo has passed, and reviewers who were allowed to play the story and multiplayer have already given final ratings, while others are still providing their views while their review is still being written.

Thus, what’s the verdict so far? Although the material is more extensive, the advancement mechanism seems to be problematic. We worried that the game’s contentious loot box system, which might make it seem like a Pay to Win experience, would harm the game’s user base in the long run when we played it during the beta.

Here’s a rundown of everything:

gamespot.com: “The most serious flaw with this method is that it is never fully explained. While you’ll ultimately figure out how credits, crystals, and crafting materials are utilized, you’ll still have to accept that the effort you put into the game isn’t always rewarded with advancement, at least not in the manner you’d want.” -6 out of 10 (Review still in progress) “Extremely polished and engaging multiplayer, with an unfulfilling narrative added on,” says GamesRadar. – 3.5/5 “Excellent fan service undermined by commercial considerations,” writes the Telegraph. -3/5 “In a Call of Duty-baiting package that’s as frustrating, inconsistent, and magnificent as the Star Wars films themselves,” writes Eurogamer. IGN (International Game Network): “This isn’t the game for me if I want a deep competitive shooter with a great Star Wars narrative. However, Battlefront 2 succeeds in a really enjoyable manner in delivering on that Star Wars dream of going from corner to corner of the galaxy to explore everything it has to offer. I simply don’t think there’s enough here to hold my attention for very long.” – There is no score yet (review in progress) Gamer in the United States: “The never-ending loot box scandal has hidden Battlefront 2’s positive aspects, but they should not be overlooked. It’s simply a shame they aren’t in the spotlight as they should be.” – PCgamer 3.5/5: “A great campaign, too complex advancement, and an odd multiplayer flagship” – There is no score yet (review in progress) a polygon is a shape that is made up of “We’ll have a comprehensive review up shortly. In the meanwhile, after playing a little portion of Battlefront 2’s single-player and multiplayer modes, I’m hopeful that this game will appeal to fans of the first game as well as Star Wars fans seeking for a diverse universe that caters to various skill levels.” Trend in Gaming: “While disappointing, the campaign is just a tiny portion of the whole product. There is enough material to keep you occupied for dozens of hours, but if EA intends to keep a large multiplayer audience interested, the progression system may need to be overhauled.” – 80 out of 100 Business Insider: “Star Wars: Battlefront II attempts to appeal to both diehard and casual fans. It succeeds on occasion and fails on occasion. The single-player campaign’s cut sequences are great so far, but I’m looking forward to some really enjoyable gameplay.” – There is no score yet (review in progress)

I bought the first game on day one, and I’m not sure I’ll do it again, particularly with a multiplayer-focused title. For the sequel, it may be good simply keeping an eye on things from afar to see how things turn out. On November 17, 2017, Star Wars: Battlefront 2 will be released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
