Sony has been making a habit of updating God of War on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro, and the next update for the game will add some big additions. First, players will be able to go back to God of War’s first few levels and do some of the sidequests they skipped the first time around. Then, players with the Legacy of Kratos Pack that was released for the game on December 2nd will be able to access all of those sidequests, as well as a new “hard” difficulty. Sony Santa Monica has introduced the much-anticipated Additional Game+ option, which comes with a slew of new features. Those of you who are currently playing God of War or have yet to play the best-selling action game now have a compelling incentive to do so.
Unlocks will transfer over to New Game+ as anticipated, and cinematics may now be skipped in all modes of play. There’s also a new level of gear to make, called ‘Perfect,’ and some opponents will act differently in battle. Yes, have fun with the tougher Valkyries and such.

We assumed the New Game+ option would be a quick addition when Sony mentioned it in passing at their E3 press conference this year, but it’s great to see that the upgrade took a lot of time and work.
On April 20 of this year, God of War was released to critical acclaim. In his review, Carlos Hernandez awarded the game a 9/10, concluding: “Santa Monica Studio has effectively updated the series without losing the aspects that have made the God of War franchise so popular, especially after such a lengthy hiatus. They’ve created a God of War game that takes chances while ultimately telling a compelling narrative.”
