Most Factorio players use the default map settings which are located in factorio/data/maps . I don’t know many Factorio players so I thought others might benefit from some suggestions on how to improve their map settings.
Factorio is a game which is still in early development stages, but due to its popularity, it has been widely used by the gaming community. The game has been developed by a group of passionate people and has been developed with the sole purpose of creating a game that is as close to real life as possible. Players are given the opportunity to build bases and factories, which in turn, create products that are used to generate resources, which in turn, are used to build even more machines. This vast cycle of building and expanding continues for many hours, making the game addictive. In the late game, the player is given the opportunity to construct bases to defend against the enemy forces as he advances.
The map setting is crucial since it affects the game’s difficulty. This tutorial for Factorio v1.0 provides an example of map choices that make the game easier.
I. The Beginning
Do you find yourself in such a tough situation?

- Cliff is obstructing the path.

Resources aplenty – With MAX, you won’t have to go far to acquire more ores.
There will be no cliffs if you uncheck “Cliffs” as indicated in the picture.
Keep adversaries at a safe distance – “Starting area size” defines the size of the region where no biter’s nest exists at the start of the game. Let’s make it as big as you want it to be.

No pollution – If pollution does not worsen, enemies will not approach on their own.
