You may have already heard that Nvidia’s new GeForce RTX graphics cards are here, ready to take on the competition in the high-end gaming market. What you may not have heard is that the GeForce RTX 2070 is actually a rebranded 2060. The RTX 2070 is a more expensive version of the existing GTX 2060, which means it’s good for about 10% better performance in most games. The rest of the RTX lineup is much more expensive, with the flagship 2080 Ti offering up to 15% more performance over the GTX 1080 Ti, while the 2070 can be expected to offer 2-5% better performance compared to the GTX 1070.
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 and the 3070 are the newest GPUs in the RTX series and they’re both pretty awesome. The RTX 2070 is mainly aimed at casual gamers and the 3070 is targeted at the prosumer and the high-end gamers. The 3070 is the higher tier model and it packs a punch once you get it from the factory.
The market for graphics cards is becoming increasingly diverse. Many gamers are looking for the best possible experience for their money, so there are practically no budget solutions for today’s games. Since the launch of the GeForce RTX 20-series, Nvidia has been working on the next generation of graphics cards based on its newest Turing architecture. The new models are supposed to be even more power efficient, but also more powerful. The GeForce RTX 2070, for example, is aimed at gamers who want to squeeze the most out of their hardware, while the RTX 2080 is meant for those who like to play in 4K. The RTX 3070 is the entry-level model of the new RTX 30-series family. It offers all the features of the. Read more about rtx 3070 specs and let us know what you think.
Nvidia introduced their RTX series in 2018, making ray tracing a new gaming medium for the first time. The RTX 3000 series, based on the same idea, was created out of a desperate necessity. Nvidia announced officially a week ago that the RTX 3000 series will be released in the next months. To be honest, the news fascinates and surprises me since the RTX 2000 series will be made more affordable and accessible to people like us. Aside from the jokes, the RTX 3070 is the only card that will be less expensive than the other options. It’s the cheapest GPU in the Ampere family, and it’s not for the clout.
In a recent comparison, comprehensive graphical charts were displayed at the launch ceremony, accusing the prior lineage GPUs of being a complete waste of money. I realize it seems harsh, but the RTX 3070 outperforms the RTX 2080 and RTX 2080Ti. That’s remarkable since the RTX 3070 is expected to cost about $500, while the RTX 2080 Ti is expected to cost around $800. It’s a significant change! Don’t worry; we’re discussing Nvidia. They’ve made it obvious that the RTX 3080 and 3090 will strip you of any leverage and perhaps drain your money. These two beasts are what we refer to as “extreme gaming cards.”
Perhaps everyone is ecstatic because the new lineage is so user-friendly, powerful, and exceptional that no one can ignore the buzz. To our surprise, the card will be released with Watch Dogs: Legion in October, so if you want to play the game in RTX mode, please, for the love of God, get the RTX 3070. Now it’s time to discuss the card’s many components, including its specifications, official release date, and how it will benefit gamers.
Let’s give Nvidia’s new entry-level Ampere GPU, the RTX 3070, a warm welcome!
When will it be released? (RTX 3070)
Nvidia stated on September 1st that the RTX 3070, RTX 3080, and RTX 3090 will be crashing in the following months. Unfortunately, the RTX 3070 will be delayed. Perhaps to increase gamer excitement? I know it’s surprising, but the RTX 3070 will not be released any time soon; however, the RTX 3080 and 3090 will be released on September 17th and 24th, respectively. “We don’t know when the RTX 3070 will be released,” is the ultimate conclusion.
The cost (RTX 3070)
The lowest of the three disclosed devices, the RTX 3070 (about $499, AU $680), will be the cheapest. Nvidia says that the RTX 3070’s performance is unbeatable, and that it outperforms the RTX 2080Ti by a significant margin. It might be worse, based on my experience, since Nvidia is notorious for slipping in marketing techniques and gimmicks. All we can do now is cross our fingers and hope.
Detailed specifications (RTX 3070)
|CUDA Cores are graphics processing units.||5,888|
|Memory Access Interface||256-bit|
|Power connections are required.||1 × 8-pin PCIe|
|PCIe (PCI Express) Interface||4.0|
|Clock Booster (GHz)||1.73|
|The highest possible resolution||7680 × 4320 pixels|
|Ports||DisplayPort 1.4a, HDMI 2.1 (3x)|
|Price to begin||$499|
Take the price tag with a grain of salt, in my opinion. Based on these specs, I can confidently state that it outperforms the RTX 2080 Ti for current-generation gaming systems. You can do a lot with 5888 CUDA cores. Consider how quickly 5888 cores will let your system solve difficult mathematical and geometrical issues. Not to add that the card has a clock speed of 1.73 GHz, which is incredible and revolutionary in every way. The boost clock will keep the data transmission rate per second at a record level. Aside from that, the RTX 3070 provides 20TFLOPS, which is theoretically equivalent to FP32 performance.
However, it, like every other GPU, has its limits. To be honest, most games these days need a larger amount of VRAM in order to operate at 4k. The RTX 2080Ti, on the other hand, has 11GB VRAM, while the RTX 3070 only has 8GB VRAM, which is insufficient for 4K gaming. The card somehow manages to compete with the RTX 2070, which has an 8GB VRAM and 2560 CUDA cores. The only difference we can notice is the number of cores and how big the boost clock is.
That leads us to the addition of the Nvidia RTX IO API, which is a new module that works in tandem with Microsoft’s DirectStorage API. This keeps all of the pipelines between your storage and GPU in top shape. To be honest, it will essentially move the bulk of games away from VRAM and into RAM. It’s also interesting to discover that the RTX 3070 consumes less power than the RTX 3080 (only 220 watts), while the RTX 3080 consumes 320 watts.
Finally, the RTX 3070 will be the most power-efficient and finest entry-level card for the next generation of games, thanks to its huge number of CUDA cores and excellent Boost clock. It’s a shame that we can’t test the card or include comprehensive graphs, but we’ve gotten thus far by sifting through every scrap of information on the internet. Overall, the RTX 3070 will be many people’s dream card!
