The lowest of the three disclosed devices, the RTX 3070 (about $499, AU $680), will be the cheapest. It might be worse, based on my experience, since Nvidia is notorious for slipping in marketing techniques and gimmicks. All we can do now is cross our fingers and hope.

Take the price tag with a grain of salt, in my opinion. Based on these specs, I can confidently state that it outperforms the RTX 2080 Ti for current-generation gaming systems. You can do a lot with 5888 CUDA cores. Consider how quickly 5888 cores will let your system solve difficult mathematical and geometrical issues. Not to add that the card has a clock speed of 1.73 GHz, which is incredible and revolutionary in every way. The boost clock will keep the data transmission rate per second at a record level. Aside from that, the RTX 3070 provides 20TFLOPS, which is theoretically equivalent to FP32 performance.
However, it, like every other GPU, has its limits. To be honest, most games these days need a larger amount of VRAM in order to operate at 4k. The RTX 2080Ti, on the other hand, has 11GB VRAM, while the RTX 3070 only has 8GB VRAM, which is insufficient for 4K gaming. The card somehow manages to compete with the RTX 2070, which has an 8GB VRAM and 2560 CUDA cores. The only difference we can notice is the number of cores and how big the boost clock is.
That leads us to the addition of the Nvidia RTX IO API, which is a new module that works in tandem with Microsoft’s DirectStorage API. This keeps all of the pipelines between your storage and GPU in top shape. To be honest, it will essentially move the bulk of games away from VRAM and into RAM. It’s also interesting to discover that the RTX 3070 consumes less power than the RTX 3080 (only 220 watts), while the RTX 3080 consumes 320 watts.
Finally, the RTX 3070 will be the most power-efficient and finest entry-level card for the next generation of games, thanks to its huge number of CUDA cores and excellent Boost clock. It’s a shame that we can’t test the card or include comprehensive graphs, but we’ve gotten thus far by sifting through every scrap of information on the internet.
