Intel’s 9th Generation CPU’s will be coming to town in October, but the question is how much performance they’ll bring. The new chips will also support a number of new features that will make gaming on PC more immersive than ever before.

Intel’s 9th Generation CPU’s will be coming to town in October. The newest intel processor is a line of desktop and laptop processors that are designed for high-performance gaming, VR, and workstation tasks.

It’s possible that we won’t have to wait as long as we anticipated. According to a newly leaked roadmap, Intel’s 9th generation CPUs will be released in October. In 2019, both consumer-based i9 CPUs and Basin falls (with an expected year-long growth) and SKU additions (with an estimated year-long extension) will be close behind.

We had a chance to look at 3DMark benchmarks on what we thought was Intel’s Core i9 9900k, which had a TimeSpy score that topped AMD’s 8-core Ryzen 2700X earlier this week. HKEPC has clarified the contradictory roadmaps provided by Xfastest earlier this week (which leaked an older version showing Coffee Lake-S Refresh CPUs like the Core i7-9700K & Core i9-9900K being launched in Q1 2019 instead of the anticipated Q3-Q4 2018 timeframe). It has said unequivocally that Intel’s flagship i5, i7, and i9 processors would be available before the end of the year, with a deadline of October.

The Core i5-7640X will be replaced by the Core i9-7980XE with the introduction of Basin Falls Refresh, although the X299 chipset and a 165W TDP line-up will remain. The X299 chipset will continue to power the i5-9600K, i7-9700K, and i9-9900K processors. The Z390 platform will also be used to introduce new desktop CPUs. So yet, no reference of Intel’s 28-core “Cascade Lake X” CPU, which was shown off at “Computex 2018,” has been discovered.

This is the starting point. No conclusions can be made until Intel formally announces its intentions. However, it’s comforting to know that we won’t have to wait until 2019 to try out Intel’s new processors.
