Yakuza ZerO: OutRun is a racing game developed by Sega for the Sega Saturn and released on March 14, 1995. The game is a crossover of the Yakuza and Sega’s popular arcade game OutRun. The gameplay in both games involves the player controlling a motorcycle, attempting to outrun a police car on a highway. The game takes inspiration from the movie The Fast and the Furious.
Although the game is lacking in many places, the controls are still quite good, and the game has spawned a small cult following. Some of the people I’ve spoken to only started playing after seeing the OutRun movie, and have had to try and beat the game as fast as possible to gain more points. If you’re one of them, prepare to be consistently frustrated by the lack of a scoring system in the game, as you’ll be trying to beat the game for a long time.
This guide is for the purpose of helping others who are willing to try to achieve a goal of beating the “Yakuza ZerO” achievement for the game “OutRun”. It is not an exact guide and you may have to do a lot of trial and error to get the hang of it. However, it will hopefully serve as a guide on how to achieve the goal, and keep the reader updated on the progress.
To obtain 100 percent completion and the magnificent Perfectionist trophy accomplishment, you must finish the Outrun mini-game segment, which needs players to earn at least 5000000 points.
Outrun is a racing game in which players compete against the clock to go as far down the race track as possible before the timer runs out; the farther you travel, the better your score at the conclusion of the game. However, the game isn’t as simple and straightforward as it seems, since the racing course often has tight bends that may lead you to go off the track and crash, and the time never stops for anybody or anything.
This one took me a long time to finish since, even when I was younger and played this game at the arcade, I was never very good at racing games and was often crashing and going off-track.
