Welcome to the Yakuza Kiwami Trophy guide for the PlayStation 4. I’ll be going over every trophy in the game and tell you exactly what method I used to get each of them. Please note that all information in this guide is the result of personal research from my time playing the game and not verifiable by any sort of official source. Please consult other sources for help if you have questions.

Yakuza Kiwami is the latest installment in the Yakuza series, a Japanese crime drama about the trials and tribulations of Kazuma Kiryu, a former mobster who’s now trying to start a new life. While the Yakuza games are known for their dark plots and mature themes, Kiwami is focused on a lighter, more nostalgic tone. The changes to the Yakuza world are mostly cosmetic, with new areas, a new protagonist, and a few new cutscenes. You will see the “Kiwami” in game, and there are even a few new mini-games (one of which is the Shogi game shown in the video).

In the game Yakuza Kiwami, there is a trophy you can get for beating at least one round of Majima’s Shogi Challenge against him, and that is a very big deal. To unlock it, you need to get a score of at least 1600 out of 1980 points to beat him. The reason it’s so difficult is because of his defense and the amount of moves he has.

Within (YK) Yakuza Kiwami, you may earn a variety of trophies and accomplishments, one of which being Perfectionist.

Perfectionist demands players to finish the Completion List in its entirety. To accomplish so, you’ll need to fulfill a number of criteria and parts of the aforementioned list, one of which includes Shogi.

Unlike before, when you had to play Shogi by yourself to obtain the No Knock Back win (a guide for which can be found here), now you don’t have to play Shogi by yourself to earn the No Knock Back victory. We’ll have to confront Majima this time and defeat him in Shogi. Majima will appear at some Shogi shops at random, and you may level up his meter by defeating him a few times.

Anyway, here’s a short method to beating the Mad Dog in Shogi.
