To celebrate the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, which is available now on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC, Activision has introduced Call of Duty Beer, a craft pilsner brewed by Oskar Blues Brewery, the makers of Dale’s Pale Ale. Activision has teamed up with an Australian brewery to produce ‘Black Hops,’ a Call of Duty-themed pale ale.
The beer, dubbed a “midnight pale ale,” follows in the footsteps of other video game-themed drinks, such as Fallout beer, which was revealed last week and will be produced in the United Kingdom by Carling.
The beer “had to be black, obviously,” according to Black Hops Brewery, but “the major issue was we’re going into an Australian summer, so this beer couldn’t necessarily taste black.” The company’s aim is to develop a refreshing drink that players can enjoy while playing the game while staying true to the Black Ops concept.
Call of Duty: Black Hops III, the world’s first Call of Duty craft beer, was produced by Black Hops Brewing:
The beer will be sold in Australia exclusively and will arrive on November 2 to coincide with the game’s release on November 6.
