New this week: The FPS genre is getting a little more violent. The latest is Contract Killer , a beat ’em up game that’s been in development for over two years by a small group of Swedish developers. This is a game that’s attempting to capture the spirit of the best of the beat ’em up genre without the genre’s clunky controls and steep learning curve.
Have you ever wanted to play as a contract killer? It’s a concept that’s been explored in countless games over the years, but never to the extent that we’re getting in Contract Killer. This game is being developed as a free-to-play PC title and will be available on Steam this summer.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the game Contract Killer, publisher Arc System Works announced that the game will be released on PC in 2016. The title will be Arc System Works’ first PC game and the first game in the series after the release of the arcade game Contract Killer (1994). Arc System Works’ series of two-dimensional shoot-em-ups from the ’90s will return to the PC platform with the announcement of a new game in the series.
For the PC, a new 2.5D co-op beat ’em up game has been revealed.
According to reports, the game will have a vintage arcade flair with wild combinations to learn and monster battles to defeat.
With chaotic combinations, boss battles, hand-crafted pixel graphics, a unique, jazzy soundtrack, and a focus on collaboration, Contract Killer draws on vintage arcade beat ’em ups and paper aesthetics. Play the hilarious story with up to four people, earn skins and new characters, battle your friends, or attempt to survive an unending horde mode!
