Since its launch in 2014, Warframe has been going from strength to strength, and it’s incredible that the game is still growing at its current pace. Since the end of last year, the game has seen two major expansions, a new Warframe, a new weapon, and the introduction of the Plains of Eidolon. It’s been an absolutely incredible year for the game, and it looks like the studio is going to continue to pour every ounce of energy into Warframe for the foreseeable future.

So, what is the Plains of Eidolon? Well, for those of you who have been living under a rock, the Plains of Eidolon are a new map in Warframe that are currently in testing. It’s a free map, accessible to all players, but it’s not accessible to everyone. The Plains of Eidolon is a huge area filled with ruins, waterfalls, and a giant mountain. There are several different modes of transportation available to the players, including flying vehicles, and there are many different places to fight in the Plains of Eidolon.

The Plains of Eidolon is a new Warframe update that’s sprawling in size… and not just in terms of content. With the Plains of Eidolon patch, Warframe finally has a dedicated forum, a dedicated ingame guide, and the ability to level up your Archwing. There’s also a new mining system, a new weapon, and a host of new missions, missions, missions. The Plains of Eidolon isn’t just a patch: it’s a whole new game.. For the uninitiated, Warframe is a “Free to Play” PvE online shooter that casts players as “Tenno,” a species of spacefaring creatures who are masters of the “Warframe” armor (space ninjas) and the final chance against the Grineer troops. For years, gamers have had the option of selecting from a variety of mission kinds, ranging from the self-explanatory Exterminate to the more subtle Rescue, but nothing has prepared them for this…

Plains of Eidolon is Warframe’s 22nd update, providing a much-needed breath of new air to the five-year-old game. Tenno are free to wander the plains, shooting down Grineer by day and trying their luck with lumbering creatures called Eidolons (eidola?) at night, instead of having to cope with the near-claustrophobic “rat mazes” they’ve become used to.

Before venturing out into the wild, create a social hub.

The Tenno’s voyage begins at Cetus, a fresh new hub city inhabited by The Ostron, a human group that has studied the lay of the country and serves as the Tenno’s surface guide. Players are exposed to new hobbies like as spear fishing, mining, Hok’s Anvil, a new kind of melee weapon manufacturing, and even mercenary labor in the form of Bounties. Players may also begin the mission “Saya’s Vigil” on Cetus, which is a story of vengeance and atonement that leads to the blueprints for Gara, a Warframe that manipulates glass to either punish or defend its friends.

Warframe was one of the most popular free to play games in 2016, and the Plains of Eidolon expansion is its most ambitious patch yet. The update introduces a new game mode called Ember Vault, which is similar to a simulator in that you must survive until a timer runs out. However, the mode is more difficult than a simulator, since the map is filled with environmental hazards, including Corpus ships that shoot at you and Telosian ships that try to fire on you..
