For the best gaming experience, it is important to choose a motherboard that supports Intel’s latest 10th Gen processors. This will ensure that your system performs well and has enough power to support the latest games on the market.

The best motherboard for intel 11th gen is a motherboard that will work with the Intel 10th generation CPUs.

So, you’ve purchased an Intel Core i3 10100F or i5 10400F processor and are looking for the finest B460 motherboard?

You’ve come to the correct spot because, after evaluating almost every motherboard, I’ve narrowed down the options to just those that provide the greatest value for money.

The B460 chipset with the LGA 1200 socket is a suitable alternative to the H410 chipset, since it provides additional PCI lanes, allowing you to add more components to your system and making it future-proof. B460 boards include more PCI slots, SATA ports, and M.2 connections than the H410, making them suitable for Intel 10th generation CPUs that are locked. They are less expensive than motherboards using the H470 and Z490 chipsets and are suitable for a budget gaming PC.

Before purchasing a B460 motherboard, there are a few things to keep in mind. Remember that VRM on B460 boards isn’t important since they’re not designed for overclocking, so make sure you choose one with good heatsinks at the very least to prevent overheating. The B460 chipset has 16 PCI lanes, and the bandwidth sharing between PCI, M.2, and SATA ports is different from other chipsets.

The main M.2 connection on a B460 motherboard shares bandwidth with the first SATA port, which disables the SATA port if a SATA SSD is placed in the M.2 connector; however, if an NVME SSD is installed, the first SATA port will function. B460 boards with two PCI-E x16 slots that enable CrossfireX typically operate the second PCI-E x16 slot in X4 mode, which may be downgraded to X2 or X1 depending on the use of additional PCI slots or M.2 connections, or disabled in certain instances.

Now, on to the list, we have the best four B460 motherboards that are worth your money and should suffice in the vast majority of situations. Please feel free to share your thoughts on these motherboards.

Choosing the finest B460 motherboard from Asus is one of the most difficult jobs, owing to the fact that Asus produces a large number of excellent motherboards with similar features and pricing. The Asus Tuf and ROG Strix series B460 boards compete well against one other, but the Prime series lags behind with less features.

While nearly every ATX B460 Asus motherboard supports AMD CrossfireX, some of them will have their second PCI-E x16 slot disabled due to bandwidth sharing with the PCI-E x1 slots, while others will operate the second PCI-E x16 slot at X2 or X1 if either of the PCI-E x1 slots are used.

The TUF Gaming B460 Pro Wifi, in my opinion, is the best option since it costs about the same as the ROG Strix b460 motherboards but has an integrated wifi adapter that the Strix B460 F Gaming, H Gaming, and G Gaming do not. The remaining characteristics are similar. The board also includes a 1Gb LAN and an integrated Wifi adapter that supports Intel Wifi 6. The chassis fan headers, CPU fan header, and pump header are among the 5x headers for cooling devices, as are certain RGB and ARGB headers for RGB devices.

Debug LEDs for debugging, an eight-phase VRM with heatsinks, four DIMM slots for memory, six SATA ports for SATA drives, two M.2 slots for NVME SSDs, two PCI-E x16 slots for graphics cards, and three PCI-E x1 slots for additional expansion cards are all included. Six USB ports are available at the I/O, four of which are USB 3.2 Gen 1 and two of which are USB 3.2 Gen 2. You’ll receive an HDMI and a DP connection for display.

Best-Motherboards-for-Intel-i9-10900K

While MSI has some excellent B460 motherboards under $150, such as the B460 Tomahawk, which has excellent features such as a very powerful VRM (which you don’t need) and some good onboard features such as Debug LEDs (which are also on the Asus Tuf B460 Pro Wifi) and a Type C front header, I still think the TUF B460 Pro Wifi is the better choice because the Tomahawk lacks wifi and both cost $140. So, the MSI B460M Pro VDH wifi is the next one, which I think is excellent value for money.

Its VRM is clearly inferior to that of the Tomahawk and Mortar Wifi, but because these are designed for locked CPUs like as the i3 10100F and i5 10400F, spending $40 extra on an ATX motherboard only to obtain a strong twelve phase VRM when you aren’t going to overclock isn’t a smart decision.

This board also has a good VRM with some nice heatsinks, which should keep things cool enough. It features EZ Debug LEDs for debugging, a steel-armored PCI-E x16 slot, 2x PCI-E x1 extension slots, 2x M.2 slots for NVME Storage drives, and 4x Fan headers for cooling. If you wish to add RGB and ARGB devices to your case, such as fans and LED strips, it also includes RGB and ARGB headers.

It features a lot of I/O, including 6 USB ports, 1 PS/2 port, HDMI, DVI, and VGA display connections, and a Realtek LAN interface with 1Gb bandwidth. The board only has 4x SATA ports, but that should be plenty since it already has 2x M.2 slots and you can’t use more than 4x SATA disks on a board like this that costs less than $100. However, if you install two NVME SSDs, you will only be able to utilize 3x SATA ports.

What is it that is good?

  • 4x headers for fans
  • Troubleshooting using EZ Debug LEDs
  • Fast NVME SSDs may be installed in two M.2 slots.
  • Wifi adapter built-in
  • 3 output ports for displays

What isn’t it?

  • There is no RGB lighting built-in.
  • There is no support for AMD CrossfireX.

Many boards with the B460 chipset that have higher-end specifications and features, such as the TUF B460 Pro Wifi that I mentioned above, cost much more than $100, but for $20 extra you can purchase a cheap Z490 motherboard that is overclocking competent and has superior VRM and other features. As a result, it may not be necessary for everyone to spend a lot of money if you have a board like the ASRock B460 Pro4 with adequate capabilities for any budget gaming build.

The ASRock B460 Pro 4 is a $100 ATX motherboard with a 9 power phase VRM and excellent heatsinks. Obviously, you won’t be able to overclock it, but its low price makes it a preferable option for budget gaming setups. It features 2x PCI-E x16 slots for graphics cards, 2x PCI-E x1 slots for expansion cards, 2x M.2 SSD connectors, an M.2 Wifi connection, and a total of 7x fan headers, including the CPU and AIO.

Keep in mind that if you utilize the first SATA port or vice versa, the second M.2 connection will be deactivated since they both share bandwidth.

It features 2x RGB and 2x ARGB connectors for RGB devices and an integrated RGB lighting at the right side near the chipset for aesthetics. There are a total of 6 USB ports on the I/O, including a Type C connector, as well as HDMI and VGA connections for display.

What is it that is good?

  • There are nine power phases with enough heat sinks.
  • RGB lights built-in
  • AMD CrossfireX is supported.
  • Cooling is provided via 7x fan headers.
  • For RGB devices, there are 2x RGB and 2x ARGB headers.
  • The best B460 chipset board for the money.

What isn’t it?

  • There are no debug LEDs.
  • Nvidia SLI isn’t supported.
  • A Wifi card must be purchased separately.

Gigabyte B460 Aorus PRO AC

Best-Motherboards-for-Intel-i9-10900K

The majority of the entry-level Gigabyte B460 boards are almost similar, with just minor variations that won’t matter in most situations. While Gigabyte offers the lowest entry-level B460 motherboards, I think that a board like the MSI B460 Pro VDH Wifi, which costs less than $100, is preferable to a very basic H410 that looks like a B460 board with virtually no improvement.

However, Gigabyte still has a few of excellent B460 boards, like the B460 Aorus Pro AC, which sticks out. It features a powerful 10-phase VRM with excellent heatsinks and an I/O cover with RGB lights built in. The board features 3x PCI-E x16 slots with 2 way CrossfireX compatibility and 2x M.2 SSD connections.

While the second PCI-E x16 slot shares bandwidth with the first M.2 connection, it will downgrade to X2 mode if an NVME SSD is installed in the first M.2 connector. So keep in mind that you have two choices: either operate your second PCI-E x16 slot at X4 with a SATA SSD placed in the first M.2 connection and deactivate your SATA 1 port, or run your PCI-E x16 slot at X2 mode with the SATA 1 port operational.

There are two more PCI-E x1 slots on this board, one of which will be deactivated if the main M.2 connection is utilized since they share bandwidth. There are a total of 6 SATA ports on this device, which also enables Raid setup. A Q-Flash button is onboard for upgrading the BIOS, and the I/O has a total of 8 USB connections.

It features a superior Intel 2.5Gb LAN for internet connection as well as Intel Wifi 6 for wireless communication. It costs $140, which is same to the price of the Asus Tuf Gaming B460 Pro Wifi. The main flaw with this board is the absence of any Debug LEDs, which is a major CON since we see this functionality on even MSI’s sub-$100 boards.

What is it that is good?

  • 10 phase VRM with excellent heatsinks.
  • There are many PCI slots and M.2 connections.
  • RGB lights built-in
  • AMD CrossfireX is supported.
  • Wifi adapter built-in with Intel WiFi 6 and 2.5Gb LAN

What isn’t it?

  • Only 4x fan headers are available.
  • There are no debug LEDs.

Conclusion

Intel-locked CPUs are better suited to motherboards using the B460 chipset. They include all of the necessary functionality for day-to-day work and are less expensive than Z490 chipset boards.
