Inside The Game

Category

On a daily basis, we use a device that has a general purpose, but as a professional gamer you occasionally need a device that has a much higher performance, and that’s exactly what a gamer mouse is made for! In this blog, we will show you what Logitech G15 is and how you can adjust the settings to adjust the DPI to a much higher level, making the mouse respond much faster and smoother.

I am going to show you how to change the DPI of your mouse on your computer. With a higher DPI you will gain a better mouse movement and with a lower DPI you will gain a better mouse movement.

When playing games for extended periods of time, such as playing a MOBA like League of Legends, it is important that your mouse pointer/cursor is as accurate as possible to compensate for the delays that can occur in-game. This can be quite difficult to do via software and mouse drivers, and so a hardware solution is recommended to accomplish this. For example, changing the DPI (dots per inch) of the mouse can result in a higher rate of mouse movement and improved accuracy.

How can you check the DPI of your mouse?

That’s a little more complex. There is no built-in program in Windows 10 that allows you to verify your mouse DPI. Many people would want to understand their mouse DPI in a simple and straightforward manner, however Windows 10 does not provide such an application.

There are a few additional options for determining your mouse’s DPI. You may find out the DPI of your mouse by visiting the company’s website that produced it. However, this does not provide the precise DPI at which the mouse is presently working. It just indicates the DPI at which the mouse is capable of working.

You may be able to verify the DPI if you have a branded computer mouse that comes with the manufacturer’s driver software. It even allows you to change how the hardware works.

You may be able to verify your mouse’s DPI if you install the appropriate mouse driver. Simply go to the manufacturer’s website and search for the driver software download area. Select your operating system and begin the installation process. Install the driver and run the program once it has been downloaded. You will most likely be able to locate a section devoted to DPI settings in this program, where you can also check the DPI of your mouse.

However, bear in mind that not every mouse or manufacturer allows this.

The PS3 controller isn’t supported by every PC game and many games require a keyboard and mouse to function properly. So, how do you play PC games using a PS3 controller on a PC? There are a few different methods to do this, but the best way is to use a PS3 USB controller adapter.

The official PlayStation 3 (PS3) controller is an amazing piece of technology, but sometimes you need to use it on things other than your PS3. For example, you might want to use it on your PC. But how do you go about doing it?

You can use a PlayStation 3 controller on a PC, and you don’t even have to download a driver. However, there are a few steps you’ll need to take to make the setup work. We’ll explain how to connect a PS3 controller to a Windows 10 PC, which includes a few additional steps to make sure everything runs smoothly.

The PS4 has taken the spotlight away from the PS3, and everyone is now enthralled with the upcoming PS5. That isn’t enough of a cause to get rid of your PS3 or your consoles just yet. For gamers who want to play on their PC, PS3 controllers may still be helpful.

If you’ve become sick and weary of your old keyboard and mouse setup, the best option is to dust up your old controller. An old PlayStation DualShock 3 controller is precisely what you’re looking for, and it’ll also serve as a fantastic upcycling project.

On the PC, the DualShock3 controller for PlayStation is not simple to use. Why bother when something newer is so much more user-friendly? In a few ways, the PlayStation 3 controller is unique.

Even the finest PC consoles lack the Dualshock 3’s pressure-sensitive analog face buttons. As a result, there is no better controller than the Dualshock 3, particularly if you want to use it with the PS emulator to play PS2 games.

If you prefer the feel of older controllers over the upgraded DualShock4, this is the controller for you.

Before you begin, make sure you have the mini-USB cord necessary to charge the controller. If you can’t locate one, a regular mini-USB cable may be purchased online for a very low price, or through your local electronic shop.

Before continuing, make sure your PlayStation 3 is turned off, since this may interfere with the installation process.

Take your controller and follow along with me as I take you through the steps.

What You’ll Need as Prerequisites:

  • DualShock 3 controller from the PlayStation 3.
  • For the controller, a mini-USB cable is required (aka default PS3 charging cable)
  • If you want to connect wirelessly (which is an option), have your Bluetooth dongle available.
  • Before continuing, make sure your PS3 is switched off, since hitting the PS button will turn it on, preventing you from connecting it to your PC.
  • You’ll need to connect your PC to your PS3 controller using the mini-USB cable in order to install the first set of PS3 controller drivers. After you’ve completed most of your setup, you’ll need to download the following files (which are needed for the SCP program to work):

Software is required.

  • .NET Framework 4.5 (Microsoft)
  • Runtime for Microsoft DirectX
  • Redistributable Package for Microsoft Visual C++ 2010
  • Runtime for Microsoft Visual C++ 2013
  • Driver for the Xbox 360 controller (Needs to be only installed on Windows7)

Note: Even though the majority of you have already loaded these drivers, it’s always a good idea to double-check to avoid problems down the road, particularly if you’re not sure whether you installed them correctly in the first place. If you already have them installed, you will be notified throughout the installation process.

Using the SCP Driver Package to connect a PS3 controller to a PC

1629680317_15_How-to-Use-A-PS3-Controller-on-PC-Step

ScPToolkit installation instructions

  1. Install the four Microsoft packages first (link mentioned below). If you’re using Windows 7, you’ll also need to install the Xbox 360 controller driver. Windows 8 and 10 come with it pre-installed!
  2. Using a mini-USB cable, connect your Dualshock 3 to your computer.

Note on Bluetooth setup: If you wish to use the controller wirelessly, make sure you have a Bluetooth dongle plugged in or that your motherboard supports Bluetooth. According to ScpToolkit, you’ll need a Bluetooth 2.0 or higher dongle that fully supports Enhanced Data Rate (EDR).

Drivers

The SCP DS Driver must be downloaded in its most current and updated version. If you don’t already have one, you’ll need to download and install a file archiver program for Windows, such as WinRAR, since the folder will be in 7-zip format.

The zipped files containing the most current version and updates should be extracted.

Navigating

Open the unzipped latest update folder and go to ScpServerbin, where all of the files must be copied.

replacing and pasting

Now, navigate to ScpServerbin inside the unzipped latest version folder, and paste all of the files you copied into the folder. Replace the files in the target folder if you receive a warning.

Getting rid of the original files

Now that we’ve completed the required steps, you may remove the original folder as well as the compressed directories. The unzipped copies of the latest update folder may also be deleted. We’ll use the most recent version folder from now on.

ScpServer is now open.

ScpServer’s bin folder is stored in the latest version folder, so copy it.

Changing the folder’s name

Make your way to C: Program Files, where you’ll make a Scarlet folder, then a Crush Productions folder within it (they’re the ones who made the program in the first place), and then paste the bin folder inside.

Obtaining Administrator privileges

When prompted for Administrator privileges, click the proceed option.

Run as an administrator

From the command prompt, open the copied bin folder, right-click the ScpDriver program, and choose Run as Administrator.

Setting up and installing

Before you click the Install button, double-check that the checks next to Bluetooth Driver and Configure services are both unchecked.

If you’re using Windows 7 or an earlier version of Windows, you may use the Force Install option. This method should be able to install the pre-installed drivers on Windows 8 and 10.

The controller is being detected.

When the installation is complete, click Exit and then open the ScpMonitor program, which should identify your controller by default since you’ve had it connected from the beginning. If the game supports console controllers, you may also play Steam games with your PS3 controller.

Unplug and reconnect your controller if it isn’t detected. The controller has been identified and is working if “Charging” shows instead of “Reserved.” Restart your computer if your controller is still not recognized.

If the Host Address in the SCP DS3 Monitor program still shows disconnected after following all of the previous procedures, the Bluetooth isn’t supported.

To connect your PS3 controller to your PC (Windows 7 or Windows 10) through Bluetooth, you’ll need a Bluetooth dongle. You’ll also need to turn on Bluetooth.

Locating your file

Go to the Zadig folder in C:Program FilesScarlet, then to the Crush Productionsbin folder to launch the Zadig program.

Load a device that has been pre-programmed.

Open or double-click Bluetooth.cfg by going to Device > Load Preset Device.

Look for the dongle.

To begin, go to Options-List All Devices and pick the USB dongle from the drop-down box. Open Bluetooth and other device settings, then click on the device and printers option under the relevant setting area to locate the USB dongle that you need to connect to the PS3 controller.

The driver should be replaced.

You may then click Replace Driver after selecting the USB dongle you want to use as your dedicated PS3 Bluetooth.

Identifying the host address

Confirm that the SCP Monitor has found a Host Address.

Remove the controller from the cable, and your PS3 controller should automatically connect over Bluetooth to your Windows 10 PC. NOTE: If the controller does not identify it on the first attempt, just plug it back in and unplug it again; it should recognize it after a few seconds.

If BTH appears in PAD 1 instead of USB, it’s connected; whether it isn’t, go to the part below titled Calibrating and Ensuring it’s Connected to manually verify if it’s connected.

Connecting and calibrating.

SCP Toolkit is required to connect the PS3 controller to the PC.

By clicking the green Download button, you may download the ScpToolkit.

Files should be opened

You should open and install the ScpToolkit Setup program you have downloaded.

Toolkit for Running

Click the Run Driver Installer option once the installation is complete.

Installing Drivers

Begin by selecting the appropriate drivers for your console, such as “Install DualShock3 driver.” To choose your PS3 DualShock3 PC dongle wirelessly, just click the Install Bluetooth drivers button, then select the device from the drop-down box.

Installation

Click Install once you’ve verified the devices you’ll be using. Keep in mind that pop-ups and audio prompts may occur after the installation.

Changes to be confirmed

Use the SCP Monitor to double-check your modifications once they’ve been installed. You may now use your DualShock 3 controller either tethered or wirelessly.

Calibrating It and Making Sure It’s Connected

If you’re using Windows 10, you’ll need to hit the Bluetooth and Other Devices settings again before clicking the Device and Printer option within the relevant section setting.

On your Windows 7 PC, go to the start menu, then Control Panel, then Devices and Printers to verify the connection. Because the drivers we downloaded earlier fool Windows into believing the PS3 controller is an Xbox 360 controller, your PS3 controller will now be replaced with an Xbox 360 controller for Windows, which is fantastic.

Select Game Controller Settings and Properties from the context menu when you right-click it. If the buttons you touch in the Properties Window are reflected in real-time, everything should be OK.

If this matches the buttons you pressed on the controller, congrats! You may now use your PS3 controller to play games that need a console controller!

Conclusion

Whether you want to play with a controller or not is entirely up to you. And it’s obvious that you’re not the only one who feels this way. Rather to using a keyboard and mouse, many competitive players choose to utilize a console controller.

When it comes to gaming, there are a few different display technologies that you can use to get a better gaming experience. TN displays are the most common for smartphone displays, and they have been around for quite some time, so they have been proven to be a solid option. However, there are a few drawbacks of using a TN display that you should be aware of, especially if you play a lot of new games that require a decent response time.

On this page, you will find an analysis of the differences between the three types of displays that are popular in today’s computing market; they are referred to as in-plane switching (IPS), Twisted Nematic (TN) and Vertical Alignment (VA). IPS is the most common technology in the gaming world, probably because most gamers are used to it, but it is not without its problems. It is the most expensive to produce, which causes it to be more expensive than other technologies, and it is also more prone to be damaged by the elements. TN and VA both have their pros and cons, but they are generally cheaper and more durable than IPS, which is why they are very popular in the gaming world.

Every gaming enthusiast knows that the choice of display technology is one of the most important factors in selecting a new gaming monitor. Most gaming enthusiasts are familiar with the three display technologies used in high-end gaming displays: Twisted Nematic, Twisted Pixel, and Vertical Alignment (VA).. Read more about ips vs va vs tn and let us know what you think.

Furthermore, while choosing one of these panels, a number of variables come together to provide the greatest viewing angles and color ratio. You must be aware of refresh rates, color gamut, contrast ratios, and reaction times in order to do this.

I personally use the IPS panel, and trust me when I say that it is one of the finest panels on the market if you want to play games at 144Hz or higher. However, this does not change the fact that TN and VA panels are both widely used for different reasons.

For what it’s worth, following this advice will help you make the best choice for your gaming setup and end up with a desired monitor that will last for years.

What are the meanings of these abbreviations?

  • IPS (International Press Service) (In-plane switching)
  • The state of Tennessee (Twisted Nematic)
  • V.A. (Vertical Alignment)

IPS Panel

1629680285_160_IPS-vs-TN-vs-VA-Which-is-the-Best

To begin with, IPS panels are widely utilized on devices like as televisions, smartphones, and monitors. The ability of this panel to shade crucial viewing angles is why it is often used on most popular gadgets. Not to add, if the settings are tweaked a little bit, this panel produces beautiful color and stunning images.

When IPS panels are compared to TN panels, the IPS panels are clearly the better option. What about VA panels, though? Yes, VA panels offer a fantastic contrast ratio, but they may sometimes degrade the overall image quality. Aside from that, conventional IPS panels used to have a reaction time of 4ms or greater, but that no longer applies. You can almost always get IPS panels with a reaction time of 1ms, which is really impressive and appreciative.

In what situations may IPS panels not be used?

To be honest, there isn’t a simple solution, but individuals have had to deal with some serious problems that are now irreversible. Backlight bleed is a problem with IPS screens, which causes “IPS glow.” It’s nothing more than the screen’s derailed frozen pixels. For what it’s worth, it’s a sensitive issue since it may sometimes make your display unusable if you don’t address the problem as soon as possible. But don’t panic; if you have an IPS screen and are having the same problem, you may read our backlight bleed tutorial.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of using an IPS panel?

PROS CONS
Color management that can withstand Bleeding from the backlight
It has a lot of different viewing angles to choose from. It becomes more costly as the refresh rate increases.
Stunning visuals Have a reaction time of at least 4 milliseconds.
User-Friendly

TN Panel

1629680286_444_IPS-vs-TN-vs-VA-Which-is-the-Best

People nowadays prefer TN panels, despite the fact that IPS may be adequate for high-end gaming. The explanation for this is very simple. TN panels have short reaction times and high refresh rates, including 240Hz. Response times, in my view, are very important. Why? Assume you’re a fan of first-person shooter games (Read: First-person shooter). Let’s take the case of Apex Legends as an example. What will happen if the reaction time is longer? Your character will undoubtedly lag, or the pixels will display more slowly. Your in-game death will be unavoidable this way.

It’s worth noting that 144Hz TN panels are less expensive than their 60Hz equivalents (IPS 144Hz). It’s because IPS panels with a refresh rate more than 144Hz outperform TN and VA 144Hz panels. Aside from that, keep in mind that TN panels can go as high as 240Hz, so you’re in excellent shape if you want to push your in-game settings to 4K.

What are the drawbacks of purchasing TN panels?

The TN panels, as I previously said, do not provide withstanding images. This implies that the out-of-synch color projection may make you uncomfortable. To put it another way, the colors on the screen have been white-washed or simply washed away (looks paler). Furthermore, the TN screens do not have the same high-quality viewing angles as the IPS panel. As a result, for certain users who are used to IPS technology, this may be a disadvantage.

Last but not least, only a few TN panels enable HDR, which means you may not be able to manipulate the image’s bright and dark tones.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of using a TN panel?

PROS CONS
Response times of 1 millisecond (usually) Colors that have deteriorated
IPS is more expensive. Viewing angles that are distorted
The fastest of the panels

VA Panel

1629680287_980_IPS-vs-TN-vs-VA-Which-is-the-Best

When it comes to professional gaming, VA panels should be the last thing on your mind. It’s due of the jumbled color levels and the ghosting effect. To prevent this, go for TN or IPS panels, but for the purpose of clarity, let’s look at how VA panels operate. The color reproduction of the VA panel is identical to that of the IPS panel for the purpose of simplicity. However, the problem arises when you are going to see the screen from a different perspective.

The sole advantage of having a VA panel is its ability to display high contrast ratios, which provides your eyes with a unique experience. VA panels, on the other hand, are the slowest, even slower than IPS panels. This implies that if you want to play games like Fortnite or Apex Legends, you won’t be able to do so on this VA panel.

What are the drawbacks of purchasing VA panels?

First and foremost, VA panels are restricted in terms of color output and viewing angles. Furthermore, the likelihood of backlight leakage, clouding, and ghosting on VA panels is at an all-time high, resulting in poor picture/video quality.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of having a VA panel?

PROS CONS
The contrast ratio is incredible. Increased reaction times
Affordable Bleeding from backlight
Color creation that is good Ghosting

So, which panel is the most appropriate for you? [Scenarios based on use]

Gamer’s Guide:

When deciding between a TN or an IPS panel, the real battle begins (VA is just out of the equation). IPS panels are better for viewing angles, whereas TN panels can handle higher refresh rates. TN panels are popular in eSports owing to their ability to achieve refresh rates of up to 240Hz. Furthermore, TN panels are less expensive than IPS panels.

For Serious Gamers:

Those who like 4K gaming fall under this group (narrative-based video games). Keeping this in mind, the VA panel, with its greater contrast ratio, is the ideal choice. You will be able to enjoy a more gripping narrative with beautiful visuals on the screen in this manner.

Artists who work with computers:

Because of the improved color gamut and viewing angles, I would strongly advise you to use an IPS panel for this application. Furthermore, an IPS panel provides 125 percent sRGB and over 90 percent DCI-P3, making it ideal for digital artists.

To use on a daily basis:

If your use is limited to routine tasks, TN panels are always a superior option since they are inexpensive, economical, and of good quality. However, VA panels, which are usually better than TN panels at the same price, are also available.

The Final Word

You’re probably wondering which panel to choose after reading this post. Perhaps there isn’t a simple solution, and it all depends on your requirements. If you want the greatest image quality and the best viewing angles, IPS is the way to go. If you’re on a budget and want to reduce reaction times, a TN panel is the way to go; otherwise, a VA panel with a high contrast ratio would suffice.

Most Commonly Asked Questions

What is the definition of a response time?

The time it takes for a pixel to go from one shade of color to another is called response time. In other words, how fast your display renders or swaps the pixels. The faster the answer, the better. It’s pointless since the monitor’s reaction time is approaching 7 or 8 milliseconds; you’ll still suffer lags and input delays.

The refresh rate is the number of cycles your monitor goes through in order to produce frame rates on your screen. For instance, 60Hz is the absolute minimum, and anything less is an insult to the gaming community. Today, a variety of refresh rates are available, including 240Hz, although 144Hz is the most popular owing to its near performance to that of sophisticated displays, and at a lower cost.

The advent of HDR gaming has meant that gaming monitors are now being used on a wider variety of devices. While gaming on a TV is still the preferred method of gaming, on a monitor that is connected to a PC, the difference in display quality between the older technology of TN and the more modern IPS technology can be seen. While on first glance, this may seem like a no brainer, the reality is that there are pros and cons to each technology.. Read more about va vs ips gaming and let us know what you think.

G-SYNC is a technology that synchronizes the monitor (or TV display) to the GPU (or the graphics card) of a gaming notebook. The idea is that this reduces screen tearing and improves responsiveness of the gaming monitor. When purchased, G-SYNC monitors use the monitor-GPU synchronization technology provided by NVIDIA.

After the first G-SYNC monitors started shipping to consumers in October of 2015, they were met with a wave of positive press and a large number of eager gamers. A year later, we’re still debating whether or not it’s worth it.

The G-SYNC monitor has been a popular gaming monitor with the option of G-SYNC with a Nvidia graphics card for a few years now. They have been able to use this technology to increase performance and lower the cost of the monitor. The monitor with a G-SYNC option has a higher price tag than a regular monitor with a Nvidia G-SYNC monitor with a Nvidia graphics card. The G-SYNC monitor has been able to be turned on or off in the monitor with a Nvidia G-SYNC monitor with a Nvidia graphics card. The G-SYNC monitor has been able to be turned on or off in the monitor with a Nvidia G-SYNC monitor with a Nvidia graphics card. The G-SY. Read more about is g-sync worth it at 144hz and let us know what you think.

If you’re a gamer, you’ve probably heard the phrase “G-Sync” before. It corresponds to one of the monitor’s characteristics, particularly for displays with refresh rates of 144 or above. Indeed, you’ll only notice this function if your display is above-average in terms of technology. It must be the most recent, with all of the upgraded features. Nvidia cards are the only ones that support G-Sync. If you’re an AMD fanatic, for example, you may not be able to switch on G-sync and will have to return to AMD’s FreeSync.

In this post, we’ll address the most often asked question: “Is g sync worth it?” So, without further ado, let’s get started!

What is the rationale for using G-sync?

Before you can grasp what G-sync is, you must first learn about V-sync. I’ll spare you the trouble of looking for anything on the internet. Vertical synchronization is a technique for synchronizing the monitor’s refresh rate with the GPU. The function is most often seen in games, where you can sync all of the additional FPS with the monitor’s maximum possible generation. Stutters, freezing, and tearing will be reduced if there are additional frames per second on the screen.

G-sync is based on the same idea of foresight. However, there is a distinction between the two. V-sync uses a double-buffer technique to lock the frame rate at half the refresh rate of the display, resulting in increased latency. G-sync, on the other hand, changes the refresh rate and framerate at the same time, removing delay.

Because the difference in latency/input lag is so small, V-sync is likely to be used at refresh rates of 60-70 Hz. However, when it comes to displays with refresh rates ranging from 144 to 240 Hz, V-sync causes major issues (high latency, input lags, forceful locking down of frame rates). Nvidia suggested G-sync technology to address this issue.

Bringing in G-sync, which utilizes adaptive synching technology, was the greatest option. The adaptive sync maintains the refresh rate in sync with the framerate variations that are unavoidable. Surprisingly, there were no locked FPS in the final product. It’s no surprise that G-Sync displays are putting a strain on conventional monitors since everything was smooth and tear-free. However, there is a debate that negates most of the benefits of using a G-sync meter.

Let’s throw some light on what’s going on!

What is the reaction to G-sync monitors?

1629680269_947_Is-G-SYNC-Worth-it-in-2021-Dismantling-a-Popular-Belief

Expensive

G-sync displays, for the most part, are hell-bent on selling themselves cheap. Unlike FreeSync, they are expensive and generally take a toll on your budget (another adaptive synching technology). G-sync is a hardware-based solution from Nvidia, which implies the technology is based on the GPU rather than the software. It enables VRR on the display (variable refresh rate). As a result, in order to include such chipsets inside displays, manufacturers must push to create high-end gaming monitors.

Although there may be no discernible differences between a conventional monitor and a G-synch display when comparing the two. They both appear the same, but the one with G-sync will be more costly, maybe twice or three times as much. Who knows what will happen!

Here are several G-sync monitors to consider:

  • 27-inch Acer predator IPS monitor
  • ASUS ROG Swift PG348Q 34-inch gaming monitor
  • ASUS ROG Swift PG258Q 24.5-inch LED Backlit Gaming Monitor
  • 65-inch OMEN X Emperium
  • 27-inch Acer LCD Monitor

G-sync isn’t compatible with AMD GPUs.

This is where the majority of the criticism comes from. If you have an AMD GPU and want to utilize G-sync with your display, I’m afraid you won’t be able to do so. You can only utilize G-sync if you have an Nvidia graphics card.

Surprisingly, AMD’s FreeSync offers greater customizing options. You can depend on FreeSync displays to perform the job since it’s an open-source software-based solution. They are also less expensive and compatible with the G-sync system.

In summary, you can enjoy the same high-end experience with FreeSync displays as you can with G-sync monitors at a lower cost.

What remedy has Nvidia devised to deal with the backlash?

People began to reject G-sync because of the high costs and the need to switch from AMD to Nvidia simply to utilize it. Nvidia had to come up with a solution that might potentially solve a slew of issues. Nvidia said in January 2019 that a driver update will be released that would make any Nvidia GPU compatible with the FreeSync technology. In other words, you can now use Nvidia GPUs with AMD FreeSync displays without having to spend hundreds of dollars on G-Sync monitors.

It’s excellent news since the difference in performance between G-sync and FreeSync displays is minimal. Now, instead of spending a fortune on G-sync displays, you can utilize AMD’s FreeSync panels for a fraction of the price.

When do you need G-sync technology the most?

The diagnostic procedure may be frightening. You may not always know when to update your monitor. The steps are straightforward, and all you have to do is adhere to them.

  1. Create a game title (it might be any game!) and launch it.
  2. When the starting screen appears, go to settings and turn off the V-sync option.
  3. Switch to campaign mode.
  4. If you see tearing or splicing on your screen (due to out-of-sync horizontal and vertical frame rates), it indicates your monitor isn’t auto-tuning the synchronization setting.
  5. Return to the settings after exiting the campaign mode.
  6. Re-enable V-Sync and take note of the differences.
  7. If the tearing or splicing persists, you’ll need to replace your display. It may indicate that anything is amiss with your display.
  8. If you don’t encounter any stuttering after activating V-sync, you may not need to switch to G-sync or FreeSync at all. Why spend money when you can play games that refresh at a consistent rate?

Is NVIDIA G-Sync Worth It? In conclusion, is NVIDIA G-Sync worth it?

There is no definitive solution to this question. It is completely up to the user. I can’t make you choose your poison since both choices (Yes and No) have their own set of consequences. What’s the hurry to purchase another display if you can have a smooth gaming experience with whichever monitor you have? The rules are the same for the opposite choice. Yes, you should adjust it if you are unable to manage frame rates properly.

Wait! There’s one more issue.

The G-sync option is not supported by many GPUs, particularly those from Nvidia. For example, the GTX-10 series, and potentially the GTX 970, may not be able to run the G-sync option on the display. Because these displays are so large, a strong graphics card is required to produce the visuals at a variable refresh rate. Surprisingly, the idea was taken into account, and as of 2021, you may produce images with a variable refresh rate in certain ways. But, once again, it isn’t very potent. Expect nothing short of a miracle. There are advantages and disadvantages to utilizing G-sync, particularly on low-end GPUs.

If you have the financial means to upgrade your graphics card, go ahead and do so; otherwise, if V-sync is performing well, stay with what you have.

Last but not least, if you’re an AMD fanatic, you may choose FreeSync over G-sync, which is a reasonable choice. There will be no disagreements!

I hope you find this post helpful in clarifying all of the little nuances of the G-sync! Leave a comment if you have any questions about the G-sync. We will do all we can to assist you!

Can we give a standing ovation to my beloved Corsair Vengeance RAM? I’ll try not to be prejudiced since Corsair is the love of my life. Corsair has never let me down in my own experience. Coolers, fans, RAM modules, and casings are all examples of this. They’ve been doing an amazing job, and it’s admirable. Although the price tag may deter some prospective customers, trust me when I say that once you acquire it, the rest of your life will be calm. The RAM has a CAS latency of 15, which is excellent in terms of specs and functionality. It is well known that the lesser the CAS latency of your RAM, the better it will function. Furthermore, the module’s rated frequency is 3000 MHz, implying that it can execute 3.0 billion instructions per second. Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow Not to mention the overall quality (sturdy construction) and the heatsinks’ ability to resist the elements, the module is tempting and appealing. On rising temperatures, Corsair guaranteed that your RAM remains in touch and operates to its full capacity. To be honest, if money isn’t an issue for you, it’s a must-have module!

Pros

  • Latency is low.
  • Module that performs

Cons

  • It may be humiliating at times.

The G. SKILL Trident Z Neo takes second place since it has all of the sturdy and sophisticated features you’ll need to keep your Ryzen 5 2600 running. The RAM modules, on the other hand, were designed specifically for Ryzen CPUs, due to the demanding and frantic schedule that these processors have. The module has a distinctive appearance that makes it appealing to the eye. Toggle on and off the modes and profiles using BIOS settings or third-party applications for RGB profiling. Furthermore, the same module comes with a strong and robust heatsink that enables it to resist and operate normally in very hot environments. According to recent sources, the module makes use of G. SKILL’s unique tool kit for efficiency, therefore it’s no surprise that people are clamoring for this RAM module.

Furthermore, you receive a 3600 MHz frequency clock, which means the RAM can execute 3.6 billion instructions per second. That, in my view, is admirable. It’s worth noting that the RAM’s CAS latency is “CL18,” which is much greater than the first item on the list. Memory modules with a frequency of 3600 MHz should have a delay of C14-C15, to be honest. Whatever the case may be, nothing is perfect. I would still suggest it since it can be installed on a variety of motherboards, including the X570 (the latest one).

Pros

  • Frequency of phenomenology
  • Appealing to the eye
  • Built to last

Cons

  • High latency is used.
  • Because of the RGB, it’s pricey.

Flare X series by G. SKILL

1629679661_984_Top-5-Best-RAM-for-Ryzen-5-2600-Updated-Apr

The RAM modules of the Flare X series are exceptional. Although the RAM is ranked third on the list, this does not imply that you will begin to boycott it. To begin, the RAM is primarily intended for AMD CPUs, as shown by the label on the module. In terms of specifications, you get a fantastic component with higher frequencies, overclockable profiles, and a solid design. It’s worth noting that the Ram has an unusual layout (no RGB), which may turn off certain prospective consumers. Regardless, the RAM is effective. RGB isn’t required as long as the RAM is efficient and delivers the required performance.

Furthermore, the transmission rate is excellent, ensuring an uninterrupted gaming experience. Not to mention the fact that you receive a lifetime guarantee, which means you may obtain replacements as often as you want. That, in my view, is amazing. Overall, it’s a fantastic module with an outstanding CAS latency of “CL14.”

Pros

  • 14-day CAS delay
  • Exceptional transfer rate

Vengeance RGB Pro by Corsair

1629679663_924_Top-5-Best-RAM-for-Ryzen-5-2600-Updated-Apr

I had no intention of keeping this Gem of a RAM in 4th place, but I didn’t have much of a choice. The reason for this is due to a few features that cause the module to lag behind. In practice, the RAM runs at 3200 MHz, which is very low when compared to the newest modules, which run at 3600 MHz+. I believe the RAM had promise, but it was stifled for reasons unknown. Anyway, let’s call a halt to this rant.

When it comes to the design and layout, it’s adorable and appealing. Because the heatsink is strong and robust, your module will be able to resist high temperatures. Yes, you may go to a more aggressive frequency curve for overclocking, but to be honest, it doesn’t offer you much space to improve. The overclockable entity’s basic frequency is barely greater than its overclockable counterpart. It is, nevertheless, a good and functioning memory module. Yes, it’s there for the RGB. Using either Corsair’s software or the BIOS settings, you may swap between various modes and profiles.

HyperX Predator RGB DDR4

1629679664_967_Top-5-Best-RAM-for-Ryzen-5-2600-Updated-Apr

It’s time to move on to the final product. HyperX Predator, on the other hand, is a great memory module with a slew of features for top-notch performance. For example, you may get vivid RGB colors in which to bask. Simply enable various profiles and modes, and you’re ready to go. Not to mention that the construction is healthy and has a heatsink that can resist the elements. Do you have any idea what’s surprising? In overclocked mode, the RAM runs at a blistering 4600 MHz. That’s incredible! Consider your RAM being able to handle 4.6 billion instructions per second. It is, indeed, excellent. XMP certification and compatibility, CAS delay between CL15 and CL19, and efficient performance are also included.

Overall, it’s a fantastic module to pursue!

Pros

  • Color profiles (RGB)
  • 4600 MHz overclockable

What should you think about before purchasing the best RAM for Ryzen 5 2600?

CAS Latency: It is true that individuals do not consider accepting responsibility for their actions. Why would you not choose a RAM module with a lower CAS latency? You’ll be OK as long as you obtain anything with minimum latency timings. In layman’s terms, CAS latency relates to how quickly a module tends to memory sector rows and columns. CAS latency refers to the time delay between the two events. As a result, CAS latency of CL16 will be chosen for a RAM with a frequency of 3200 MHz. Frequency: It’s one of the most important things to consider when purchasing any RAM module. Why? In my view, the solution is very simple. Let’s suppose you receive a module with a 3200 MHz rating. The module will be able to execute 3.2 billion instructions per second, according to this statistic. On the other hand, if you purchase a 2400 MHz RAM module, it will clearly not perform as well as a 3200 MHz module. Isn’t it self-evident? It’s a simple concept! Compatibility is crucial in evaluating whether or not a module will achieve its objectives. In essence, you must verify that the module is not only physically compatible, but also technologically compatible. To put it another way, you’d have to immerse yourself in the world of RAMs for a few minutes. Let’s suppose you purchased a DDR4 RAM module. Unfortunately, your motherboard only supports DDR3 memory. What is going to happen now? Number 1 won’t fit on the MOBO (physically), and it won’t function (technical). You must ensure that the cooler located directly alongside the RAM modules is not too large, since this will limit the amount of space available for slotting/expanding. People do not pay enough attention to the cooler’s size, and then complain about how tiny adjustments in the goods may make the slotting process easier. I hope you’ll think about how motherboards, coolers, and upgrade headroom may all have a big impact on the slotting process. Factor of cost: After costly modules, a thumb rule is not always followed. It is not necessarily true that more costly modules will provide greater performance. You must verify that anything you choose has all of the sophisticated features necessary to keep your gaming PC running. Not to add that when the capacity factor rises, so does the price. As a result, it’s always preferable to go for a maximum 32 GB RAM kit; otherwise, you’ll be squandering money since anything more is simply overkill. Please, for the love of God, don’t compromise on the RAM kind. In reality, there are three different kinds of modules available: DDR2, DDR3, and DDR4. The word “DDR” stands for “double data rate,” and buying DDR4 memory modules is usually advised since they are particularly good at performing jobs. Aesthetics: This is completely dependent on your own preferences. RGB RAM modules are a good choice if your system is all about aesthetics, appearance, and bright colors. They will serve you well, despite the fact that they are a bit pricey. Otherwise, buying basic but functioning RAMs is OK.

Finally, some ideas

Since we’ve arrived at the finish line, I’d like to advise you to make sure that whichever RAM module you select for your Ryzen gaming system has all of the necessary characteristics. The models listed above were tested on Ryzen systems and found to be the most suitable for you. Indeed, the list is not exhaustive, and you are free to seek for whichever RAM you believe best fits your needs. If you ask for my advice, I would suggest the Corsair Vengeance LPX since it is at the top of the list.

I hope you found the instructions useful and understandable. Please let me know if I missed anything or if I didn’t add your preferred Ryzen RAM in the comments. Furthermore, constructive criticism is always appreciated.

Before you put together your most desired computer configuration, you should ask a lot of questions. Whether you’re a professional or a gamer, you can’t overlook the significance of RAM in your computer. When purchasing RAM, you may have a lot of queries. It may be due to the different versions of RAM. Is the most recent generation more convenient or not? What is RAM and why is it necessary for a computer? We’ll address all of the typical concerns that you may have.

RAM stands for Random Access Memory.

You may have heard of RAM while learning about computers. But we’ll give you the gist of it here.

Random-Access Memory is abbreviated as RAM. On your computer, it is utilized to store machine code and working data. RAM enables data to be read and written in the same amount of time independent of its physical location. Simply stated, RAM refers to the computer’s temporary memory. It denotes that the data is only kept for a limited period of time. If you are working on your computer, for example, the data will be temporarily kept in RAM, but if you switch off your computer before saving your work, the data will be lost. Whether you’re loading or working on apps, RAM allows you to do so quickly.

RAM is found in all computer devices, including your PC, smartphone, tablet, and laptop.

What exactly is DDR?

You may be familiar with the term DDR when it comes to RAM. The DDR stands for Double Data Rate. It features an accurate clock and electrical signal timings, allowing it to transmit data more quickly.

Previously, there was SDR (Single Data Rate), which was upgraded to DDR1 (Double Data Rate). With time, better functions were added to the DDRs. With the passage of time, additional generations such as DDR2, DDR3, and DDR4 were released. They were more efficient and faster than the previous ones since they were newer.

The latest generation RAMs are compatible with current computer equipment. It implies that some motherboards are incompatible with earlier RAM types such as DDR3 or DDR2. If you purchased an earlier generation of RAM, you will need to replace your whole motherboard.

We’ve put up a breakdown of RAM features in numbers to help you comprehend them better.

RAM Prefetch Voltage Bandwidth
DDR1 2n 2.5/2.6V 3.2 GB/s

DDR3, DDR4, and DDR5 are the memory types that we shall discuss. In addition, we shall discuss their performance and capabilities.

All of them are available on the market, but DDR4 is the most popular since it is compatible with the most devices. However, DDR3 is used in many PCs for everyday tasks.

What is the difference between DDR3, DDR4, and DDR5 memory?

1629679535_848_DDR3-vs-DDR4-vs-DDR5-%E2%80%93-2021-Comparison-Guide

The table above summarizes the differences between DDR3, DDR4, and DDR5 memory. By looking back over the years, you can observe how RAM generations have improved in performance. The more recent something is, the more efficient it is. In the computer, each feature has a distinct purpose. In this post, we’ll go through these features in more detail.

Bandwidth

The pace at which your data may be stored or read by your CPU is referred to as bandwidth. Bytes per second is the unit of measurement. Your computer’s bandwidth is affected by a number of factors. The quicker your RAM, the simpler it will be to store data and operate several programs simultaneously. However, the primary function of your RAM is to store data.

The more RAM your computer has, the more data it can hold at one time. The amount of RAM you need is determined by the kind of work you perform on your computer. The amount of RAM you need depends on how many apps you use and how tetchy you are, whether you’re playing or working on a computer.

The speed of your computer is directly related to the amount of storage you have. You can store more data regardless of the speed of your RAM if you have additional storage. DDR4 RAM offers a much higher bandwidth than DDR3 RAM. As a result, although DDR5 RAM has the greatest storage, it is not accessible to everyone.

Voltage

In general, the higher the voltage, the better your RAM’s performance will be. Your computer’s performance and speed will improve as the voltage rises. However, this does not imply that you should prioritize RAM with a high voltage. The higher voltage has certain drawbacks as well.

The higher the voltage of RAM, the more energy it consumes and the system heats up. With its voltage-compatible and high-quality motherboards, the high-voltage RAM may be utilized. The maximum voltage limit is printed on the motherboards. The motherboards may be damaged if the temperature rises too high. For a more accurate and better voltage, DDR4 is a good option. Because it has an average voltage rate, it will offer greater performance while using less energy and producing less heat.

Also, the voltage difference between earlier versions was greater than the current ones. In comparison to DDR1, DDR2, and DDR3, DDR3 and DDR4 have a little difference.

Prefetch

This phrase may be unfamiliar to you. Prefetching is the reading of data in a single pass. The phrase “Prefetch Architecture” is a computer term that relates to the “Prefetch Architecture.” A RAM with a larger n size will read more data in a single pass than a RAM with a smaller n size. It all relies on your RAM’s prefetch buffer.

Previous generation RAMs had a significantly smaller perfect buffer. The prefetch buffer size was raised from 2n to 16n with greater benefits in subsequent generations. It implies that DDR4 will be much quicker than DDR1. DDR5 also reads data sixteen times quicker than DDR4. DDR3 and DDR4 both use the identical prefetch algorithm, however DDR5 is twice as fast.

Size

We don’t speak to the RAM’s storage capacity when we talk about its size. Originally, it was the RAM size. Because RAM is a computer component, you must evaluate the size of RAM in relation to your motherboard. Motherboards come in a variety of sizes depending on the generation. DDR4 compatible RAM is not compatible with DDR3 motherboards.

The RAMs are created in a variety of sizes and shapes. This is done to avoid RAM being installed incorrectly with a particular motherboard. If you already have a motherboard, you’ll need to double-check the RAM compatibility. Furthermore, DDR4 is supported by newer motherboards. So, in terms of compatibility, DDR4 is the way to go.

Latency

Another characteristic of RAM is latency. It is used to calculate the RAM chip’s computation bandwidth. Between DDR3 and DDR4, there is a little variation in latency. Furthermore, the majority of DDR4 chips have somewhat greater latencies. It implies that DDR4 chips with a low latency are preferable.

What Should I Do?

It would be beneficial if you kept a few factors in mind before choosing between DDR3, DDR4, and DDR5. This is due to the fact that your computer’s RAM cannot be changed on a regular basis. It takes up a lot of space on your computer. Before you purchase RAM, the first thing you need think about is your motherboard. You’ll almost certainly receive DDR3 if you have an older motherboard. You’ll need to verify your motherboard’s specs. Because motherboards are built differently depending on the RAM, this is the case.

In addition, you should verify the quantity of RAM your computer’s operating system supports. The quantity of storage varies depending on the operating system. You should also think about the kind of job you perform on your computer. You can get away with 8GB if you’re using it for graphic and video editing or basic computer tasks. However, you’ll need a 16GB deal for professional usage, since you’ll be utilizing a variety of diverse and demanding apps. Also, don’t go for the quickest option. You should choose the one with a good mix of storage and speed. As a result, you may enjoy both functions.

Last Thoughts

You do not have complete control over RAM selection. Certain restrictions, compatibility, and criteria must be adhered to. You can’t make a complete decision based on your preferences. Different speeds and performance are provided by each RAM. You must strike a balance and choose one that is compatible with your motherboard and will offer you with efficient and long-term service.

The RTX 2080 Super is a slightly cut-down version of the RTX 2080. It’s been created to aid ultra-high-end gaming, and it’s been sold alongside the original RTX 2080 to prevent a price war. It uses a cut-down version of the RTX 2080 chip, with a reduced number of Tensor Cores and a smaller memory cache, but it’s still faster than the GTX 1080 Ti. The RTX 2080 Super retails at a price, but the RTX 2080 is still in demand for its significant performance boost, so you might want to wait for the price of the RTX 2080 Super to drop before you buy.

We got our hands on two of the most powerful graphics cards, the RTX 3060 and the RTX 2080. Both cards perform much better than their predecessors and we can confirm that there is a performance difference between the two cards. Let’s find out which is the one with the best performance, best value for money and which one is best to buy in 2019.

After Nvidia’s GTX series of graphics cards, they are producing RTX series of graphics card. Nvidia released the new RTX 2080 Super Edition on May 22, 2019. With the advance technology, the RTX 2080 Super Edition is more powerful than the RTX 2080. The performance of the RTX 2080 is similar to the GTX 1080 Ti. Its performance is better than the GTX 1060. The price of the RTX 2080 is more expensive than the GTX 1060. The performance of the RTX 2080 is more expensive than the GTX 1080 Ti. The performance of the RTX 2080 is more expensive than the GTX 1080.

It’s reasonable to assume that the battle between the RTX 3060 Ti and the RTX 2080 Super is heavily skewed. How can a new lineage card (3000 series) be compared to its predecessor? Well, there are instances when comparing two cards is necessary, such as when the new one costs much less than the prior one and performs 5-6 percent quicker. That’s correct, it’s incredible!

I’m going to divide the article into two parts from here on out. The first will be about the RTX 2080 Super, while the second will be on the RTX 3060 Ti. Finally, I’ll compare the two products and provide a final judgment on the GPU’s overall acceptable performance in comparison to its competitor.

1629679472_670_RTX-3060-Ti-vs-RTX-2080-Super-Detailed-Comparison

In a variety of ways, the RTX 2080 Super has cornered the RTX 2060 and RTX 2070 Super like a blazing star. For the time being, the non-super versions are off the table since comparing them is like comparing an Intel Core i3 to an Intel Core i9. No, I’m not trying to be dismissive, but it’s the truth.

The RTX 2080 Super follows in the footsteps of the RTX 2080, but in a more stylish manner. It’s also true that the RTX 2080 Ti has somewhat better performance than the RTX 2080 Super; nevertheless, the 2080S is a fantastic graphics card for 4K gaming, severe overclocking, and perfect rendering.

Variants that are available

Before we get into the performance study, it’s worth noting that the RTX 2080 Super will vary somewhat in terms of performance, overclocking, and other characteristics depending on which version is selected. For example, as compared to the Gigabyte model, the MSI version works flawlessly for you. Not to add that the fundamental idea of CUDA and Tensor cores is the same. The attribute sharing and sophisticated mathematical catering with the CPU distinguish the variations.

Performance

What do you anticipate when Turing-architecture is integrated on a 12nm die size? The GPU’s best feature is that it is made up of 13.6 billion transistors and 3072 CUDA cores. When these cores work in tandem with the CPU, amazing things happen. I’m not just talking about the RTX 2080 Super; I’m talking about any card.

The GPU has a base frequency of 1650 MHz that may be increased to 1815 MHz as needed. What you can do with overclocking is take it a step further, but keep in mind that doing so may invalidate your GPU’s warranty. It is, however, not a major issue.

In addition, the GPU hit a sweet spot of 14 out of 652 functional GPUs, making it around 3% quicker than the RTX 3060 Ti. Don’t worry; we’ll go through everything in detail.

FPS (frames per second)

This portion of the post may seem confusing at first since we aren’t particularly targeting games, but rather providing an overview of how produced reflections, lighting, and gravity operate on a particle system. The RTX 2080 Super outperformed the RTX 3060 Ti by 6% and had a slightly higher reflection index in games.

It’s also worth noting that on an overclocked profile, the GPU was able to surpass a 14 percent margin. On the overclocked GPU, you may anticipate about 160-250 FPS. It doesn’t end there; the GPU is also 137 percent quicker than its competitors on average.

What games can you play with the RTX 2080 Super?

To be honest, games like Battlefield V, Control, JX3, Metro Exodus, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider should run at a consistent 60 frames per second on 1440p with this GPU. The produced frames per second (FPS) may vary based on the CPU model used. There’s little question that the RTX 2080 Super has the ability to run games at a continuous 60 frames per second, but what matters most is a good CPU to go with it.

All of the newest triple-A games should run well on the GPU. You will also need an IPS or TN panel monitor for the 4k settings. You won’t be able to render pictures in 4k without a strong monitor.

Cons

  • For 1440p monitors/gaming, this is overkill (rather get a decent monitor with an IPS panel)

1629679474_315_RTX-3060-Ti-vs-RTX-2080-Super-Detailed-Comparison

The RTX 2080 Super is over $800, while the RTX 3060 Ti is less than $300, costing anywhere between $400 and $500. What makes you think that? Despite the fact that the GPU is new and incorporates Ti modularity, it is still reasonably priced. Here’s the deal: the GPU serves as a benchmark for low-cost graphics cards. Essentially, the RTX 3060 Ti will be used in next-generation games as an entry-level GPU that is affordable, functional, and capable of running games at 4K resolution.

The RTX 3070, 3080, and 3090 are all fantastic additions to the bloodline, but the RTX 3060 Ti seems like a watered-down version of its predecessors. The AMD RDNA 2 (RX 6900 XT and other variants) wins the prize, though. Well, that’s a discussion for another day; for now, let’s stay with Nvidia GPUs.

Specifications and performance

The Ampere Architecture of the RTX 3060 Ti is the same as that of the RTX 3080. Surprisingly, the ray-tracing option in Watch Dogs Legion and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla transformed the in-game environment into something magical and beautiful. It’s also true that additional equally competing components are required to achieve this.

The 8GB card should enough to run 4K versions of the game. The GDDR6 memory helps to manipulate the GPU’s overall performance. Apart from that, the 39 Ampere Streaming Multiprocessors and 4864 CUDA cores are a sight to see and lauded. To be honest, the GPU’s AI capability is provided by the large number of CUDA cores combined with Tensor cores. Furthermore, the same amount of CUDA cores assist in the manipulation of complicated mathematical and graphical equations during rendering and gaming.

When it came to design and ports, they resembled the RTX 20-series lineage in some ways. Although, to make the RTX-30 series stand out, a slew of new shape-shifting features were included.

FPS (frames per second)

First and foremost, the card was ranked 16th out of 652 functioning GPUs, two percentage points below the RTX 2080 Super. Furthermore, the average FPS score remained in the range of 181-216 FPS. Furthermore, the overclocked significance was much smaller than anticipated. By 11 percentage points, the RTX 2080 Super took first place. The RTX 3060 Ti crusaded solely on Value and Shipment. It won by a 62 percent margin, showing that when something that resonant and cheap is available, people go crazy.

What games can you play with the RTX 3060 Ti?

To date, I think you can run any triple-A title. Basically, you may anticipate the card to boost the games’ overall performance. All you have to do now is specify the proper parameters. For example, on 1440p settings, Red Dead Redemption 2, Cyberpunk 2077 should maintain a consistent 60 FPS. On 4K, however, the card may wobble and only provide about 30FPS. It’s also worth noting that the apparent FPS may vary based on the components installed in your PC. Remember that the monitor is equally important in influencing the overall performance of the games.

Bus Memory 256-bit
Bandwidth 448 GB/s
TDP 200W
PSU is required. 500W

Pros

  • Ideal for gaming in 1080p and 1440p resolutions.
  • Ray tracing resistance
  • Suitable for 4k rendering

Cons

  • 4k performance at a beginner’s level

So, which is better: the RTX 2080 Super or the RTX 3060 Ti?

With this in mind, I believe that the RTX 3060 Ti is superior in every way, since it generated 7-8 more frames per second on average than the RTX 2080 Super. Consider buying an RTX 3060 Ti for half the cost of an RTX 2080 Super. The RTX 3060 Ti’s main flaw is that its base and boost frequencies have been reduced, but I suppose the increased number of CUDA cores compensates.

So, it took a little longer than expected, but now we finally have a lot of information about NVIDIA’s upcoming RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti. The 2080 Ti is obviously the daddy of the RTX series, featuring a massive 12GB GDDR6 memory and a massive 352-bit memory interface. However, the 2080 carries the same Turing TU102 silicon as the 2080, and we’re getting a decent 8GB of GDDR6 RAM and a 256-bit memory interface. The pricing is certainly very interesting: the RTX 2080 will start at $699 and the RTX 2080 Ti will cost $999.. Read more about 3060 ti vs 2080 super reddit and let us know what you think.

The Ryzen 2000 series is nearly here, and with it comes an updated line-up of AMD’s most sought after processors. Meet the Ryzen 5 3600 and 3600X, the two new members of the Ryzen 5 family. Based on AMD’s Zen+ architecture, these new processors are headed for the desktop market, and they’re the first to use the new AMD X570 chipset. With this new platform, AMD hopes to finally deliver on the promise of high-end desktop performance with the additional features the enthusiast market has long desired.

Last week, AMD showed the world the results of its latest round of server tests, where it used six Intel Xeon Platinum 8180 processors to push data through 12 virtual machines in its “Celeron” benchmark. These are the first results AMD has released in regards to its new “Ryzen 3000” line of chips, which are typically found in high-end desktops, but will soon appear in laptops, too. AMD’s Ryzen 3000 CPUs are the first in the market to use two “Zen 2” cores and will be available in a variety of different models and configurations.

Both CPUs are based on the new Zen 2 microarchitecture and both claim to offer better performance than the previous generation. However, this is where the similarities end. The Ryzen 5 3600X uses a significantly smaller and less demanding 10-core design and its base and turbo clock speeds of 3.8 GHz and 4.0 GHz are lower than those of its 1500X sibling. The Ryzen 3600X also sports lower TDP and requires a chipset with a lot more PCIe lanes than the Ryzen 5 3600 CPU.. Read more about ryzen 5 3600x in 2021 and let us know what you think.

If you’ve been looking to construct a decent gaming PC, it’s fair to assume that selecting the appropriate CPU has always been one of your top priorities. That’s how it should be. Choosing the wrong processor may cause you more problems than you realize. The AMD 3600 Ryzen 5 or 3600X Ryzen 5 processors are now one of the most popular gaming CPUs on the market.

These processors are flying off the shelves, and a quick check at Amazon will reveal just how popular they have become. So, what seems to be the issue? The issue is that most individuals don’t know where to begin when it comes to understanding the distinctions between these chips.

Even though they are extremely similar and belong to the same socket, they will now compete for your attention whenever you attempt to make a choice. We’ll break down the differences between the 3600 Ryzen 5 and the 3600X Ryzen 5 to make things simpler for you.

The goal is to cover all of the fundamentals so you don’t end up purchasing something that isn’t exactly what you were searching for.

The Rules of Engagement

Let’s start by getting the obvious out of the way by going through the specs of each of the CPUs we’ll be looking at. That way, we’ll at least know what you’re putting yourself into. Once we’ve gotten them out of the way, there won’t be anything to worry about since everything else will be similar.

Model 3600 Ryzen 5 3600X Ryzen 5
Cores/Threads 6/12 6/12
Clock at the Start 3.6GHz. 3.8GHz
Clock Booster 4.2GHz. 4.4GHz
Cache L2+L3 3+32 MB 3+32 MB
TDP 65W 95W
Cooler is included. Stealth of the Wraith Wraith Spire is a spire made of ghosts.

After looking at the specifications, it’s fair to conclude that the two CPUs are a lot more comparable than one would assume. The difference between the base and boost clocks on both CPUs is just 200Mhz, with the Ryzen 5 3600X being faster.

Furthermore, the Ryzen 5 3600X has a TDP (Thermal Design Power) of 95W, which is greater than the Ryzen 5 3600. However, according to many test results accessible on the internet, a simple stress test intended to put both CPUs under the same strain would result in the Ryzen 3 3600 using just 4% less power than the Ryzen 3 3600X.

This implies that the Ryzen 5 3600 would use 140 watts instead of the Ryzen 5 3600X’s 146 watts. Needless to say, things aren’t looking good for the Ryzen 5 3600X, and despite the fact that the price difference is just $50, there’s still more to learn.

Gaming Capabilities

I can tell you right now that both of these CPUs will be excellent for productivity activities as well, although most people have been purchasing them for gaming purposes. After all, obtaining 6 cores and 12 threads for such a low price is something that even we are interested in.

So, how do they do in terms of gaming? We looked at a lot of comparisons and, due to HardwareUnboxed, we were able to figure out what the differences are between these CPUs. The GPU used to test the games was an RTX 2080 Ti, and the resolution was set to 1080p since it is the most typical option for most people to game on, and it also removed any bottleneck.

The findings are very unexpected, and you can see some of the most popular games’ benchmarks below.

the title (FPS at 1080p) Ryzen 5 3600 Ryzen 5 3600X
Odyssey (Assassin’s Creed) 99 101
Battlefield V is a first-person shooter that was 149 151
The Division 2 is a sequel to The Division. 157 158
Tomb Raider: Shadow of the Tomb Raider 95 98

The difference is there in front of you, and I’m not even going to advise you to look carefully since the difference is so small to begin with. Granted, the Ryzen 5 3600X has a little edge because to its higher clock speeds, but it is so minor that you will hardly notice.

If you’re just purchasing one of these processors for gaming, you should simply shut your eyes and go with the Ryzen 5 3600 and save the money for a game on Steam or something else, since investing more money isn’t worth it.

What About Productivity, though?

If you’re expecting to utilize these CPUs for productivity and hope that the Ryzen 5 3600X would outperform them, don’t hold your breath. Granted, the Ryzen 5 3600X regularly outperforms the competition in productivity activities, but the “better” here only translates to a few extra points, which isn’t enough to make a difference.

Still don’t trust us? Take a look at the table below for further information.

Programs Ryzen 5 3600 Ryzen 5 3600X
R20 Cinebench    481 497
Compression using 7-Zip 55231 56595
Adobe Photoshop is a software program that allows you to 957 966
Adobe Premiere Pro is a video editing program. 513 539

Yes, I realize that the Ryzen 5 3600X scores are higher, but it’s also essential to note that the difference is tiny at best, and you won’t be able to set any new speed records with such a little difference.

The difference is so tiny that you will virtually never notice it, which is why the Ryzen 5 3600 is a tempting option here rather than paying the additional money.

Thermal Efficiency

Thermals, or the heat produced by CPUs, are affected by a variety of variables that may cause them to rise or decrease. As a consequence, when comparing two CPUs, it’s critical to test them under the identical conditions, or else you’ll receive inconsistent results, which isn’t helpful for the comparison.

We used the identical setup and stock coolers that came with both coolers to compare the CPUs. In our tests, the Ryzen 5 3600 reached 81 degrees Celsius, while the Ryzen 5 3600X reached 78 degrees. Now, the reason for this disparity is because the latter comes with a superior cooler as well.

You may switch the coolers and observe how the results on the less expensive version improve. This implies that if both coolers are used, the performance will be almost identical. The purpose of this comparison is to help you understand the premium you’re paying, and after doing so, it seems that the Ryzen 5 3600X costs more since it comes with a better cooler.

Performance of Overclocking

Now, when it comes to the overclocking capability of both CPUs, it’s essential to remember that the Ryzen 5 3600X’s greatest advantage is that it will be better at overclocking. Why? Because it is a specifically binned variant of the 3600, it should have superior overclocking performance.

While the official statement makes logic, experienced overclockers from across the globe have determined after many testing that both the Ryzen 5 3600X and Ryzen 5 3600 can only go up to 4.3GHz in overclocking. This implies that if you buy the Ryzen 5 3600X only for the purpose of improving overclocking performance, you will be dissatisfied since it simply does not deliver.

So, what distinguishes these processors from one another?

I’ve been looking through the findings for both processors that we were able to get. The $50 premium for the Ryzen 5 3600X seemed a bit flimsy at first, since you can’t make a lot of improvements at that price. Following additional examination of both CPUs, here are some factors that make the Ryzen 5 3600 a more appealing choice.

  • The Ryzen 5 3600X is an overclocked variant of the Ryzen 5 3600 that comes with a better cooling. With an aftermarket cooler, the Ryzen 5 3600 may attain the similar performance.
  • Both the Ryzen 5 3600 and 3600X overclock and peak out at around the same frequency, thus buying the additional $50 is pointless.
  • Although the Ryzen 5 3600 produces greater heat than the Ryzen 5 3600X, this is due to a cooler that is fundamentally inferior to the Ryzen 5 3600X. When you add an aftermarket cooler, you can solve this problem.
  • Both the Ryzen 5 3600 and the Ryzen 5 3600X have extremely comparable power consumption, to the point that you won’t be able to tell them apart.
  • Memory overclocking is similar on both CPUs, with minor variations.
  • Although the Ryzen 5 3600X has a little higher base clock, it nevertheless delivers the same performance.
  • If you have the proper cooler and airflow, both CPUs can maintain reasonable temps.

The reason I separated these ideas from the conclusion is because they will aid in your comprehension. Simply based on these considerations, the Ryzen 5 3600 emerges as a viable option. If you’re on a budget, use that $50 on a more powerful CPU cooling and you’ll be OK.

Final Thoughts

To be honest, many people’s conclusions are much easier after trying both CPUs. If you’re searching for a new mid-range gaming CPU that provides both excellent performance and fantastic value for money, the Ryzen 5 3600 over the 3600X is a no-brainer.

Additionally, you will see the Ryzen 5 3600 go on sale more often than its elder sibling, so you may be able to find a good bargain on the market.

If you’re wondering why the 3600X exists at all, we’re just as perplexed as you are. It may just be jargon used to deceive consumers into paying a greater price for essentially the same service. You may use the $50 premium to purchase a different component or a game from your preferred platform.

The performance difference is little, to say the least, but if you want your Ryzen 5 3600 to perform as well as its older sibling, all you have to do is spend $50 on a quality air cooler and slightly overclock the CPU, and you’ll have the same performance across the board.

We hope that this test clears up any misunderstandings you may have regarding both processors, since we had them as well, and thorough testing was required to show what was going on.

We all know that small form factor (SFF) computing is the future of computing. But, I’m not sure how many folks really know what SFF encompasses. Let’s take a look at some of the more popular SFF size computing cases on the market.

Back in the day (when I was in high school), people would buy their siblings or other relatives the same computer every year. But technology has advanced, and by now you can get yourself a smaller case if you know what you’re doing. Long time PC builder and modder Chauncey Black got tired of lugging around cases that weren’t up to his standards, so he decided to build his own. It’s called the G15.. What is ATX, and what does it do?

ATX stands for Advanced Technology, and it defines the configuration and size of motherboards created by Intel.

Compared to other versions, the ATX motherboard offers a number of benefits. They feature sophisticated control centers, such as CPU temperature monitoring and voltages, for example.

As a result, if there is a substantial decrease in power, the PC will immediately shut down. An I/O connection panel is placed on these boards.

You may quickly move memory with these tools, allowing for reduced airflow and the insertion of critical components. The BIOS software also makes power management simple.

There was a recent update that i decided to push back to this list since it just came out and theres only 1 that i would recommend for a small form factor build. The lastest version of the Gigabyte H270HU-11 is a sweet little board and has one of the best UEFI BIOS implementation i have ever seen. It also has a really nice VRM implementation and a nice and clean cable management implementation and all in a very small and light form factor board. The only negative thing i can say about this board is that it does not come with a rear bracket. [Updated Aug. 2021]. Read more about smallest atx case and let us know what you think.
