Inside The Game

Category

I just finished the demo for Nier Automata. It is, at the very least, an incredible experience. The atmosphere is excellent, the music is fantastic, the gameplay is top notch, the story is alright, the graphics are excellent, the world is very vivid, and the story is very interesting. The game is very well done.

“NieR Automata” is an action-packed game that tells the story of androids 2B, 9S and A2. This is a game that is hard to put down and very difficult to understand. It is full of twists and turns, and the more you play, the more you want to play. The NieR Automata Demo is a perfect introduction to the game, and will give you a taste of what you can expect from the full version of the game and its story.

The NieR:Automata Demo is a work-in-progress demo that’s currently available on Steam for PC. The demo’s not just an HD remaster of the base game with the voiced-over cutscenes, or an easy way to get a taste of the game in-between the time the full game releases on PS4 next month. The demo offers a taste of NieR:Automata’s combat, story, and music, but the real meat is yet to come. You’ll be able to experience the full game’s final story, complete with multiple endings.

A sequel I never expected to see. When NieR Automata was revealed, I couldn’t believe my eyes. The original NieR game was my first exposure to Yoko Taro’s madness, and boy does it take you on a wild trip. Drakengard 3 was my second excursion, and although it didn’t have the greatest or most effective gameplay, it was still enjoyable. The tale was enjoyable to read. After having completed the NieR Automata demo. The missing component has finally been found. Excellent gameplay.

NieR Automata brings together some of my favorite elements. Platinum Games’ action game polish and NieR’s craziness (lore, character design, soundtrack). While the original NieR had good gameplay, it was a little too easy. Melee strikes will tank you through the majority of projectiles, and your block will effectively block nearly every attack the game has to offer. Plus, your movement was much too fluid for the sluggish lumbering foes. Now that Platinum Games is in charge of NieR Automata’s development, it seems like a real action game. If you’re not paying attention, your movement and attack speed will seem amazing, but you won’t be an unstoppable killing machine. Instead than just swinging the sword and blocking 3-4 shots, you now have to strike the bullets with your sword. Your Pod, which essentially replaces Grimoire Weiss, works as a ranged attack, but firing it does not obstruct any of your other motions, allowing you to fire and maintain shooting while performing all of your melee attacks, leaping, evading, and so on.

You may lock onto enemy targets on the easy and regular settings, which will aim your pod as you wreak havoc on everything else. The lock-on feature is removed on higher difficulties, making it a pseudo third-person shooter where you must aim with the right stick while annihilating other opponents. And, like in previous Platinum action games, you may swap between various weapon types and combinations in the middle of a string to extend your combos. At the higher levels, you’ll essentially be playing Twister with your fingers on the controller, which is fantastic in classic Platinum Games flair.

If you haven’t yet played the NieR Automata demo, I strongly advise you to do so. If you like the original NieR, Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, or Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, you’ll enjoy this demo, which has a little bit of everything.

The Microsoft press conference was a mixture of things that were already pretty sure about, and things that were merely speculation. Antitrust was the big news of the show, apparently, and the company has decided to buy up all of the xbox maker’s competitors. With the purchase of the companies, Microsoft hopes to create a more unified gaming ecosystem, which is something that could greatly benefit the Xbox and the Windows 10 operating system.

Microsoft’s E3 2016 press conference was all about the future. And if the company’s overarching message was about building an ecosystem of devices that work better together, then the future is now.

As the Halo series comes to its final conclusion, the biggest question on the minds of many gamers is what exactly will be coming next from the Microsoft and 343 Industries team. Some of the biggest news to come out of the press conference was what Microsoft has planned for the future of their gaming franchises, including the upcoming Halo franchise. It was announced that the next Halo game will be known as Halo Infinite. The game will be released in 2018, and will be the first non- sequels, non-of the same-genre Halo game in over a decade.

Microsoft began and finished the second day of E3 press briefings on a high note. They focused on games, similar to last year’s presentation, and there were enough of surprises to keep things interesting. It would have lasted longer if the leaks hadn’t been all over the place hours before. Here’s a summary of what’s going on.

The Xbox One S has been announced.

Microsoft immediately starts the presentation by revealing a smaller Xbox One console. It will be available in August and will be 40% smaller than the original console.

Hi-Rez’s Oceania Esports League (OEL) kicks off this week, moving into its second season. After running its first season over the course of two days at a weekly LAN in Sydney, Australia, OEL has expanded its scope to include ANZ teams through a partnership with SMITE and Paladins.

The 2017 Hi-Rez Oceania Esports Championship Series starts on the 26th of February, and includes all five regions of the Oceania region. The top two teams from each region, and the top two teams from North America will get spots in the Global Finals in Atlanta, Georgia in April. They will be joined by the top two teams from the Asia Pacific region in a joint LAN event.

The Hi-Rez Festival of Esports has built an impressive brand in the last few years and has established itself as a major tournament series for the SMITE and Paladins esports seasons. After picking up E-sports Australia and giving them a hand to grow and develop the scene in this country, Hi-Rez are now expanding the reach of the festival into the Oceania region by securing ANZ teams in an official league for both games.

Hi-Rez Studios, the creators of the action MOBA SMITE and the fantasy shooter Paladins, announced today that Oceania teams will compete for the first time in the 2017 seasons for a spot in upcoming international SMITE Masters and Paladins Masters events, as well as a share of a USD $195,000 prize pool.

“The SMITE and Paladins esports teams in Australia and New Zealand will be assured direct qualification for two international tournaments this year as a result of outstanding results in the area. We’re thrilled to see Oceania teams play with our other teams from across the globe, continuing to develop their abilities at the top level,” said Hi-Rez Studios Senior Esports Manager Dan McHugh.

Teams from Oceania (Australia and New Zealand) now have full access to international competition, prize pools, and important exposure to a global audience.

Teams will compete in the SMITE Oceania Pro League, which has a prize pool of $10,000 AUD, and the Paladins Masters Qualifier, which has a prize pool of $8,000 AUD. The best teams from each will compete in the SMITE and Paladins Masters finals, which will be held at Hi-Rez Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, in April.

“We’ve always been pleased to provide Oceania area teams with one of the finest esports paths, with direct qualifying to the global SMITE World Championship and Hi-Rez Expo.” President of Hi-Rez Studios, Stew Chisam, said. “We are dedicated to a thriving environment for both SMITE and Paladins, which has some of the highest adoption rates in the globe in Australia.”

The Oceania Pro League in SMITE and Paladins will run from February through April, providing local teams with a full year of international competition.

In SMITE, Gods are the most powerful characters in the game. These are the Gods of the Pantheon, the most powerful among the nine Gods. This year, for the brand new God Reveal event, Nike (The Goddess of Victory) was revealed. She is one of the Pantheon’s two new Gods, and she is the first brand new God in SMITE since the Pantheon’s introduction.

After a year of play, the voice of God in SMITE has been revealed. The name of the nemesis that will be haunting our heroes is Nike, the Goddess of Victory. She was released alongside a new skin for the legendary Hercules, and will be the first skin the God will be able to obtain through the God Reveal system, which will continue to offer new rewards as the God family continues to grow.

In SMITE, the “God Reveal” is a special event in which players can see the true form of a god and be awarded a special buff or a unique item. This event has been going on for over a year now and was added to SMITE at the start of Season 4.

NIKE, the Goddess of Victory, is not a sports shoe brand, but a renowned goddess from the Greek pantheon. The winged warrior NIKE enters the battle in the newest SMITE update.

NIKE, a strong warrior, sets objectives for the whole squad to accomplish throughout a match. Victory is a certain conclusion with Nike on your side.

Nike, who was represented by a wreath of Laurel leaves in Greek mythology, soared over battlefields bestowing honor and renown on the victorious.

For additional information, see the reveal video.

Giveaway codes for the character and her alternative skin are available, and once the patch is published, they will function on all platforms.

On PC today, Xbox One and PS4 will come next week.

Tier 5 Anubis Skin

The Anubis Tier 5 skin, the winner of a community art contest and voting, was also unveiled in this release. This one-of-a-kind skin will be the prize for participating in this year’s Odyssey in-game event.

For more information on his creation, see the Behind The Scenes Video.

Today’s post is about the upcoming project Xandata, a shooter from Secret 6, or shall we say Secret 6 or Secret 6 Games. They have been working on this project for a while now, and here we are. Xandata is an action-packed first person shooter which will be released to the public the 1st of June.

There are many things that make a game great, but at the forefront is the solid foundation that the game has to make it great. In Project Xandata, the framework is sound, with good controls, a tight and responsive shooting experience, and a setting that is very much in line with the themes of the game itself.

Secret 6 is a popular gaming community, featuring a vast collection of game mods and other creative works. One such game is “Project Xandata”, which is a modified version of the popular first-person shooter “Tron”. This is the story of how Secret 6 managed to make a game from scratch, as we journey with them through the development of the game.

Secret 6 has to be the developer who has shocked us the most this year. During ESGS 2016, they debuted Project Xandata, a 6v6 Team-Based Shooter developed in Unreal Engine 4. We went down to give it a go and were pleasantly surprised by the present state of the game, which they referred to as a Public Alpha build to gauge player reaction. There are powers, standard weapon kinds, double leaps, and a concealed handgun that has rescued me far too many times throughout my battles.

To learn more about this upcoming title, we spoke with Gene Gacho of Secret 6.

On Saturday 22nd of April, I had the opportunity to sit down with Razer’s gaming hardware guru Lalor McMahon and ask him a few questions about the Stargazer, Razer’s first ever console.

On Friday, I was talking with a few other members of the Razer community over at PAX Aus when I asked them what they thought my job description was, and they all gave me the same answer. “You’re the guy who sits on the sidelines, puts on the headphones, and gives the thumbs up when the games are fun and easy to play.” – Lalor McMahon

razer-booth-lalor-mcmahon

PAX Aus isn’t only about video games, independent developers, and eSports superstars. Vendors blast music and scream to be heard and display their goods to eager players, much like at your local fish market.

We arrived at the Razer booth just as they were handing out shirts, keychains, mousepads, and even a full-on mechanical keyboard or two.

Our first encounter was with Lalor McMahon, who gave us an overview of what Razer would have on show at PAX this year, as well as some of the interesting projects they’ve been working on.

The focus of our (and Razer’s) attention was on their new OSVR and Stargazer Camera advancements. We mostly discussed the Stargazer camera with Lalor, as well as Razer’s perspective on the current state of eSports.

At PAX Australia 2016, Lalor McMahon was interviewed.

To view the video, go to the link below.

Stay tuned for our second interview, which will cover the Open Source Virtual Reality (OSVR) software Razer is developing.

The Razer Stargazer Webcam is a webcam that allows you to see what’s going on

This webcam is targeted squarely towards the gaming community, particularly YouTubers and Twitch Streamers, but Unity devs are also mentioned.

The Stargazer camera (and related software) can do some impressive feats. The most important of them is Background Erasure in Real Time.

Dynamic Background Removal

This was on exhibit during PAX Australia, and it’s incredible to see the crowds behind you disperse in real time.

It wasn’t ideal with a shifting backdrop that changed depth. This monster might easily gain its feet with a static backdrop like a bedroom or workplace.

razer-broadcaster-suite

“Skip the expensive and space-consuming actual green screen setups when the Razer Stargazer is all you need to create a professional-grade broadcast. You may completely change or delete your backdrop using cutting-edge depth-sensing technology. This offers your spectators a more interesting experience by giving the game greater viewing space.”

Scanning in three dimensions

This may be a useful tool for engineers, according to Taylor. You may use it to scan your face or an item and import it into Unity. My imagination is already racing with thoughts for scanning my face and incorporating it into my gaming character (after some touch ups of course).

When it comes to placing your face on your own custom player, NBA2k16 seems to already have this feature.

Recognition of Facial Expressions and Gestures

razer-booth-pax-australia

Facial recognition software isn’t a brand-new concept. We’ve seen movies with face scanners, and even as far back as Windows 7, certain computers allowed you to log in using your camera.

The Razer Stargazer uses Microsoft’s Windows Hello software to enable you to unlock your computer by scanning your face.

While we’re not quite at Minority Report-level motion gestures yet, Stargazer does enable you to use particular movements to open applications and play motion detection games.

However, I’d want to integrate these characteristics for Facial Gesture Recognition next. If Windows displays a system tray notice and the computer detects my frown, I want the message to vanish and the computer to think twice before bothering me again.

razer-stargazer4

Perhaps I’ll have to wait for Cortana 2.0 and the Razer Stargazer Elite to get that feature.

I swear to God… I just recently realized after saying it out loud that Razer Stargazer sounds like the beginning of a strange rhyming chant.

On the Razer website, you may learn more about the Razer Stargazer boombazer.

October Horror Month is here and this month we are playing Lakeview Cabin 3. The game was released in October of 2015 and has become one of the more popular survival horror games on Steam. The game is a remastered version of an older game of the same name but has significantly better graphics and gameplay overall. The game has an in game editor so that you can save and share your custom maps with other players on Steam.

Lakeview Cabin 3 has officially been released. This is the third and final installment in the Lakeview Cabin series, which I started back in September. Each installment of this series is a different horror game I’ve made, and they are inspired by the 7 Deadly Sins. They are also available as a single game, which can be found  here:  Lakeview Cabin 3

Lakeview Cabin 3 – October Horror Month |

The month of October has started, and celebrating horror games has steadily become a TMG tradition. This month, we have a lot of material planned, and to kick things off, Miggy and Will will be playing Lakeview Cabin 3 – an intriguing game that may entice you to revisit slasher flicks.

Part 1

Nintendo has been known for making consoles. They’ve been making them for over half a century, and the company has stepped up it’s game to make high end home consoles and handhelds like the Gameboy, DS, and Wii. But the company has also made a lot of game systems that have failed. Some are successes, like the Gameboy, but some failed. Some failed to make it in the home console market, but still got the job done elsewhere. Others failed because of their technical problems, and some failed because of their game line-up. Now, with the new Nintendo Switch, the company is trying something new, and looking to make an attempt at bringing the two kinds of game systems together. The setup includes a

The Nintendo Switch was announced at last year’s E3 expo and was revealed to be a hybrid system that uses mobile gaming technology. Following the announcement, Nintendo remained quiet on the system’s release date, hardware specs, and other details. However, that all changed in January when Nintendo unveiled the system at a dedicated event in Japan. The Nintendo Switch was released on March 3, 2017, and following the announcement, the company revealed that the system would not be producing any more units.

Back in November 2016, Nintendo surprised the world with the announcement of its new upcoming console. It was called the Nintendo NX. The NX is said to be Nintendo’s next-generation video game hardware and is expected to be released in March 2017. It will be the successor to the Wii U and the successor to the current Nintendo 3DS handheld video game console.  In this article, we will be looking at Nintendo’s next-generation video game hardware, called the Nintendo NX.  Also, we’ll be discussing the pros and cons of such hardware.

After months of speculation about what the NX will look like, Nintendo has finally given us a peek at its next ‘Next Gen’ system.

The device, officially known as the Nintendo Switch, is a cross between the Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS, with users being able to ‘Switch’ it from TV to portable playback.

“In addition to delivering single and multiplayer thrills at home, the Nintendo Switch system also allows players to play the same title anywhere, whenever, and with whoever they choose,” according to the video description.

nintendo-switch

The trailer is available to see here.

The Joy-Cons are detachable controllers with numerous buttons and a joystick that come with the modular system. The Joy-Cons are seen being swapped between a normal gamepad mode and a portable console mode, which makes the Switch appear like a Wii U controller, in the trailer. Each of the two pieces may be used as a wireless controller, one in each hand, or as two separate micro controllers for two-player games.

The Switch Pro Controller is a controller for the Switch., a conventional non-modular pad, is also seen in the video. This is a departure from the existing Wii U pro controller, and it’s uncertain if previous controllers will work.

Nintendo seems to be focusing on bringing the Switch to a variety of places, including at home, at the park with the dog, on a plane, in a hotel, at a party, and on stage at an eSports event. Players are seen playing four-player games with two Switch systems, suggesting that the consoles may be able to interact wirelessly like the 3DS. It’s possible that this is happening via the Nintendo network.

Nintendo Switch

“I hope this first look at Nintendo Switch has piqued our fans’ interest and caught their imagination with the possibilities and flexibility of play it provides,” said Kamon Yoshimura, Nintendo Australia’s Managing Director.

Games will be on cartridges rather than discs, which may seem like a step backwards, but it works well for the Nintendo 3DS. Splatoon, Mario Kart 8, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, NBA 2k, and an unannounced Super Mario title are among the titles seen in the video. Nintendo’s amiibo toys can be seen in the backdrop of the living room, so we may presume they’ll work with the Switch.

nintendo-switch-skyrimIs it possible to play Skyrim on a Nintendo console?

From the moment the Nintendo Switch was officially released,

Nintendo Switch is stored at home in the Nintendo Switch Dock, which connects the system to the television and allows you to play with family and friends in the comfort of your own home. Simply remove the Nintendo Switch from the dock, and the system will immediately switch to portable mode, allowing you to enjoy the same amazing gaming experience you had at home.

The Nintendo Switch’s mobility is aided by its brilliant high-definition display. It allows you to take your whole home gaming system with you to the park, on an airline, in a vehicle, or to a friend’s apartment.

By detaching the detachable Joy-Con controllers from either side of the Nintendo Switch, gaming begins. One player may use a Joy-Con controller in each hand; two players can each hold one; or a group of people can utilize several Joy-Con controllers for a range of gaming possibilities.

They may be readily reinstalled or slid into a Joy-Con Grip attachment to mimic a more conventional controller. Alternatively, the player may utilize a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller instead of the Joy-Con controllers if they want.

Furthermore, several individuals may bring their Nintendo Switch devices together to compete in local multiplayer face-to-face games.

Switch Pro controllerThe Switch Pro Controller

The video and press release still leave a few things unresolved. Backward compatibility isn’t mentioned, and the screen doesn’t have any touchscreen features. More details regarding the system, including launch games and pricing, will be revealed in the months building up to its March 2017 debut.

At first look, what do you think of the Nintendo Switch? We’re thrilled, but like with any system, it’ll be interesting to see what first- and third-party titles are included in the launch roster.

PAX Aus has been announced and will be held in Melbourne from October 31st – November 2nd. This is a huge event for the gaming community, and the PAX community has always been huge, so we have been working on a custom map of the Expo Hall and Theatre for this years show. This map is designed to show pretty much anything you’d want to know about the PAX Aus event, so it’s got the entire floorplan for the Expo Hall, the entrances and exits for all the exhibitor’s booths, the areas each game will be set up in, the areas each stage will be set up in, the seating map for the theatre, and a whole lot more. Print and post to your Facebook wall, pin it to Pinterest,

PAX Australia was a great success! There were many great exhibitors, and my personal highlight was meeting the Indie Game Developer of the Year, Tom Francis  (Two Flip Studios). I made a map of the Expo Hall and Theatre layout so you can see what you missed during PAX.

PAX Australia has only just begun, and will be running through the weekend. In its first year, the show has grown impressively, and the areas available for the public have expanded.

PAX Australia is less than a month away, so start planning your weekend with these PAX AUS 2016 maps.

The largest gaming expo in Australia is returning to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC).

Those who have attended prior PAX events at MCEC will note that the majority of the items are in the same location. The Tabletop area has been moved closer to the Expo Hall in the Exhibition Centre itself.

The Freeplay and BYOC spaces are located against the far wall of ‘Jeff’s Shed,’ making it simple to get to them from the main corridor.

Most of the major brands you’d anticipate are on the Expo Hall map, including Nintendo, Playstation, Xbox, and the huge PAX Rising section. So whether you’re searching for huge superstars or Aussie indie darlings, you’ll find them here.

Surprisingly, several booths are conspicuously missing. In past years, Wargaming.net had a large exhibit and presence in all of the PAX Australia expo rooms. They don’t seem to be in this lineup.

Competition of Legends did not attend PAX Aus 2015 because they wanted to concentrate on their forthcoming Australian eSports league, The Oceanic Pro League (OPL). Riot has been promoting its participation at PAX Australia 2016 with announcements of eSports and League of Legends panels, but when Non-Fiction Gaming inquired about a potential Riot booth, we got no answer.

The ‘PAX Arena – Presented by Zen Esports Network’ has taken the place of these two heavyweights. As a result, expect to see more eSports activity this year.
