Gigabyte’s Aorus X370 Gaming 5 motherboard is a high-end product that uses cutting-edge technology to give gamers an edge in battle. With features like USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-A, M.2 SSD support, and RGB lighting, the Aorus X370 has everything you need to win online games.

The gigabyte x370 gaming k5 is a motherboard that has been designed for gamers. It includes RGB LED lighting, M.2 NVMe support, and an Intel X299 chipset with USB 3.1 Gen 2.

Gigabyte recently announced the Auros line of Am4 motherboards, which are split into two categories: AB350 and AX370. The AX370 chipset is completely unlocked and classified as a high-end motherboard. The AX370 Gaming 5 is, on the other hand, a mid-high-end motherboard with some excellent premium features for AMD R7 Ryzen CPUs.

The Gaming 5 edition motherboard has a black PCB with white accents and a large number of RGB leds. LED lights run the length of the motherboard, from the bottom to the RAM slots. Near the 24 pin power connection on the right side of the motherboard is a glass type design for LED effects that will match the rest of the LEDs on the motherboard.

It’s a complete ATX motherboard with four DIMM slots and three PCIEx 16 slots with X16, X8, and X4 bandwidth. PCIE 3.0 is used in the X16 and X8 slots, while PCIE 2.0 is used in the final slot. The motherboard supports Nvidia SLI in two directions as well as AMD CrossfireX in two directions. To be honest, Intel Z170/Z270 chipsets provide the same or greater functionality for less than the price of this motherboard, but because AMD Ryzen CPUs are roughly equal to powerful Intel core i7 processors, we can’t complain about the features we receive with this board. The X99 platform is considerably more costly, despite having four more DIMM slots. This motherboard, however, is similar.

When you set the 4xDIMM slots from the bios or software, LED lights between slots will glow in various ways. The typical ATX 24 pin power connection and 2x USB 3.0 front headers are located on the right side. For adding case fans or powering bespoke liquid loops, there are two 4 pin fan headers.

Two buttons for overclocking and power ON/OFF are located in the upper right corner, making troubleshooting the motherboard simple. Gigabyte X370 Gaming 5 Cpu headers

The AM4 socket is identical to the AM3 socket, however it is somewhat larger. The 8-pin power connection for the CPU is in the upper left corner of the motherboard, and beside it is a 4-pin system fan header for the back fan. Because many motherboards lack a fan connector in the upper left corner, the rear fan must be linked to the motherboard’s center fan header, which isn’t very tidy.

There are two 4-pin fan headers on the top right side, just before the DIMM slots. At the top, the CPU FAN header is located, and the CPU OPT header is for radiator fans.

There are 3x PCIEx 1 slots for expansion cards, and the PCIEX16 slots have stainless steel covers to handle large graphics cards.

Two USB 2.0 front headers, two 4 pin system fan headers, two pump headers, RGB led ports, Audio front header, and a few other headers for various purposes are included. The front panel has obvious indications for power, reset, and hdd LED, as well as a coloured space for attaching cables.

Looking at the I/O panel, we can see that there are a number of various colored USB ports. These USB ports are not standard USB 2.0 or 3.0 ports; instead, they are 3x USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A ports and 6x USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, which are much quicker and better than conventional USB 3.0 ports.

Below the Red USB port, which is 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A, there is 1x USB Type-C port. We only have one HDMI port for display and no additional display or DVI connections.

We have one combination connection for attaching both a PS/2 mouse and keyboard at the same time, and we have a total of five audio jacks for mic and speakers.

For internet connection, the motherboard has two RJ-45 connectors. Although one is sufficient, many people utilize wireless connection through a PCI wifi card. Gigabyte X370 Gaming 5 sata ports

We have a total of 8x Sata 6Gb/s ports and 2x Sata Express connections for storage. For NVME SSDs, which are quicker than Sata SSDs, there is one U.2 connection and one M.2 socket 2 connector.

All that’s left now is testing. I couldn’t test it since I didn’t have any newer AM4 cpu cooler mounting kits for any of my cpu coolers. So, I’m going to put the AMD Ryzen R7 1700X to the test on this board, which will be benchmarked in a variety of apps and games over the next several days.
