Torchlight III is an action RPG based in the legendary Diablo universe. I’ve been playing Torchlight II as frequently as possible lately. I’ve been really enjoying it, and I’m really impressed with the new direction that the developers have taken with it. The planned action RPG Torchlight Frontiers has been renamed Torchlight 3 by Echtra Games and Perfect World Entertainment, and is being developed as a direct sequel to Torchlight 1 and Torchlight 2.
This indicates that the game’s creators have made significant modifications. To begin with, Torchlight 3 will be a paid game, as opposed to Torchlight Frontier’s free-to-play, online-only business model.
Because Torchlight III follows in the footsteps of prior games in terms of game structure, the main modification was largely inspired by the game’s Alpha testers.
“During development, you often discover what type of product a game was meant to be and we found Torchlight Frontiers was meant to be a true successor to Torchlight I & II.
